Any new announcements or anything big happening? What's the floor traffic like? Is there a good place that is east for everyone to meet like the old Nat net suites? What's the scoop people?

The live webcam wide shots of the floor look totally empty. This looks bad.

I may wait til i get home before i post a full review, but a few quick thoughts and answers....

Show floor is very slow for the Internext side. Only real busy spot today was the porn poker tour area. It's bad enough that it makes it very annoying for an attendee like myself to walk the floor. The booth bunnies are so pent up to see someone that they practically tackle anyone that goes down the aisle.

AEE on the other hand is cooking as always though stuffed with surfers. None of the surfers made it into Internext that I saw, but I have to wonder if a fair amount of webmasters didn't spend alot of their time on the AEE floor simply because it was "more fun". Several companies that might ordinarily be on the Internext side were over there this time. ClubJenna had a huge booth, ditto for Hustler. Bangbros were also on the AEE side, just to name a handful.

The players in the industry for the most part are actually here. I've seen most of the program owners at one point or another even though many do not have booths. The problem is finding people.

Dinners and parties have been the place where you meet up with people because the show floor has been dead and the circle bar is infested with video types and CES people who heard there were porn stars in the building.

Overall, the show floor itself sucks and is largely a waste of time. However there is business getting done out here. I think the folks who are here are here to do business and are less distracted by the kiddies bugging them for access to parties because they send 300-400 clicks a month.

Vegas Internext head to head with CES and perhaps even AEE is dead I think. I cant see anyone who bought a booth being in any hurry to buy another with this format.

They're moving it to March, taking on Phoenix Forum, which is a typical AVN move. They did the same thing with Cybernet Expo's until those were pretty much a non-factor as a competitor. Now they see Phoenix as a competitor so they look to be trying to do the same thing.

I dont know that they win that one. People are more likely to choose Phoenix I think. The real quandry is what does CCBill and Co do with the Phoenix show? The reason it's so great is because it's small and all-inclusive. That format wont scale to 3000-5000. If you make it more like the AVN shows, then you piss people off.

It sounds like they are going to take it on the chin for this debacle that everyone in the industry said was coming. Not a good business move when most of your clients really dislike you to begin with. The monopoly has gone...now what?

very interesting post HP. It's good to hear business is still getting done but it appears it might be a little harder than it really might need to be.

I would say it's being done DESPITE the show instead of as part of the show...

I think internext in Vegas is over . Florida will become the new big show for the internet folks .

if they go ahead with the March idea in Vegas the fat lady will have sung .

I did AWESOME business this time, however I was only on the intext side of the floor for maybe 3 - 4 hrs total time all convention.

finding sponsors for this show agin on internext side will be impossible I believe. However the AEE side is always getting bigge, ( they needed two halls this year) and is slammed packed.

I do not believe moving to March is the answear, I think taking internext out of Vegas is the answear .

That is what the people want.

try baltimore, or Atlanta, or vancouver, or Denver and I think it will be a good twice a year thing for them again, other wise only florida will survive for the internext.

Good post Hell Puppy - I really wanted to attend this show... For once. I had 30-40 people ask me personally through ICQ or mail if I would be attending the wek before the show. It was the first time I truly felt attending a show would of been beneficial to me. I am looking forward to my next opportunity to go to one, and hopefully meeting some great new people...

I think I spent 10 minutes on the Internext show floor. Spent a lot of time on the AVN show floor, that show is great. You can do TONS of networking actually on the show floor.

The Internext show floor has been quite irrelevant for some time. People don't go to the show floor, and for good reason. The purpose of Internext is networking, not being pitched on by company after company.

Others have pretty much summed it up. Business was done *despite* the show.
I came away pretty disappointed although the company as a whole did well between the two venues. It was definitely good meeting people face to face that previously I had only typed at, but I was really hoping to talk a lot more "regular" webmasters and affiliates than I managed to find.

Ah well, Phoenix is a mere 80 days away. :okthumb:

So the deal here is that Tom Cruise and Robin Williams were pitching at the CES. At internext, they were snoozing and dusting cobwebs. That should tell you something about the business.
In fact, what I find really interesting, is that the usual post show love in has fizzled. A little bravado talk about successful business, but sounds more like bullshit than business to me. Am I wrong?
People we are sick to death of useless pitches, thieving programmes, unreliable processors. It was inevitable. I know some will shit all over this post, but the freeking business is changing. Old school is dead and buried. Even if you don't believe me, just look at that pathetic Internext show.
