What is there objective.. is it to make the sale, or to get the sufer to the tour? The way the promotools are worded make a huge difference.

The main reason being the 'click here to see the free vid on the tour' link..
it gets people onto the tour, but alot of them are freeloaders
just after free porn, so you're looking at 1:1000+ ratios.

Or, do you go with a join xxxxx for $4.95 and enjoy our members area.. etc.

Click thoughs way down but the quality of the click improves.

What do you prefer on promo stuff, what gives you the best traffic/income ratio?

I try to always mention a price in my sales text. As you stated, not as many clicks, but the conversions look better. :)

Well...I replied to this earlier but the server goblins gobbled it up in the transfer. :( I'll try and recreate it as best I can.

Probably 90% of my clients have always asked for the "Click here for FREE porn" links and text in their promo stuff, but I personally like to stay as far away from the "F" word as possible. It's misleading and "cheesy" in my opinion. I prefer to go with other options myself.

"Click here for more exclusive pics & video" -Conveys exclusitivity and uniqueness in content. The surfer will click expecting to see something he hasn't viewed before.

"Click here to get your password RIGHT NOW!!" -Conveys how fast they can be inside the site.

"Click here for more SAMPLE videos" -Doesn't mention a price, doesn't say free, yet let's them know that they can see some more samples by clicking the link. (One of my favorites)

"Are you ready to see more HOT XXX Pics & Videos? CLICK HERE NOW!!" -My favorite way to do it. Get the surfer saying "YES" in his mind, and you can ease him into the eventual sale. This is an old marketing technique taught a bit by Brian Tracy and something I looked alot more in to after a few talks with BillPMB. It works and should be employed more often.

"Do you like what you see?" -YES-
"Would you like to see more?" -YES-
"Are you ready to see the full length, uncensored video?" -YES! YES!-
"Do you really want to see this nun take all 16 inches up her ass?" -YES GODDAMN YOU YES YES YES!!!!!-

These types of links I think are better. They don't scare the surfer off immediately with the thought of "oh, I am gonna have to pay for this." You want him turned on first and foremost. The sale will come later after you have teased him to the point of no return, but for now, focus on getting him in the door.

A happy medium between "This is FREE" and "This is $19.95 per month" is optimal in my opinion. Skirt both issues while still maintaining appealing texts.

Then again, there are others who have been in this game a long time that may have more experience to weigh in with but from my stance, these aren't bad tactics.

Don't forget about misleading links that deal with your subject matter. You got a site that consists of Black girls and their bubble butts. Your link is gonna rock if somehow you can get in there, "Do NOT Click this link if Black Girls and bubble butts are illegal or offensive in your area." Curiosity killed the cat. :)

How "blind" the promo material I use for my own sites is depends on the site.

On "junk" real estate, like pop-ups, it's gonna be blind as a bat. Just get the click, get him to a tour, and see if you can do anything with him from there.

On more primo real estate where I do not wish to jerk the surfer around and want him to be more "sticky" with the original site, I disclose a lot. That way I know if he clicks he's a potential sale. Otherwise I'd rather keep him on the original site and show him something else he might be interested in.

As a sponsor, I try to provide material for all of the above. And if someone has a creative idea that I do not yet have promo material available for, all they have to do is ask. No reasonable request refused.
