I woke up one morning a couple years ago and realized that there is absolutely nothing that I like about this business. For most of the time since then, I tried to convince myself that its just something to do to make money. But between everything I was doing in Russia and all the bullshit I went through combined with all the normal everyday, non-stop life and death issues that surround this business, I just have no taste for it anymore. I have lived what any normal person would call a pretty insane life in the last 10 years and though I always loved all the action and adventure and living on the edge, now I am just tired. Time to grow up.

Right now, I have focused most of my time and energy on a magazine I am starting. First issue will be Feb 15. I had considered this for some time and realized only a few months ago that a very good friend of mine publishes several large magazines through one of his companies. We are lucky to have a lot of help and guidence from them and are confidenent in what we are doing. I don't think there is any opportunity in porn right now that compares to mainstream advertising $$. At a minimum, I can make more money without thinking the Department of Justice is going to kick in my door or that my ability to process transactions and collect revenue can dissapear at any second or all the other bullshit and thats all I really care about. I just want to relax and do something fun, that I am passionate about and that I can enjoy. Thats my only plan for this year. It's the only thing I have been truly happy about in a very long time.

On that note... you will probably find it much more profitable to start a free publication about wine (magazine format) than a website. it sounds daunting at first, but the learning curve is not that bad. there is no shortage of freelance whore writers, writers who want to promote themselves/their business and content that can be bought. put together a nice, small publication of say 32 pages which would be 50% ads at a minimum and you could easily average 2000.00 or more per page of advertising. do it twice a month and double that figure. it would be a fun way to make 50K a month or so. distribution and collection is not a problem, there are companies that do this... and do it nationwide.

Haven't done much traveling. Just went to Europe a couple times this year (The Netherlands and St Petersburg). Heading to Paris in Feb and then to Romania and Hungary right after that. Greece and Egypt are at the top of my list after that. Hopefully, next fall I will get there.
:)

JR,
you never seize to make sence. This has become your trade mark! LMK if you go to Egypt about your impressions, Egypt is on my top list too. I was thinking of celebrating my 50th birthday in Giza.
