I'm eating an early supper right now so though I'd check out some new trailers and share em with you and give my opinion on them. Feel free to look em over and offer your opinions as well. :)

Poseidon

http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/poseidon/

Remake of The Poseidon Adventure that looks like it could be quite good. Looks like a pretty darn good cast with Richard Dreyfuss, Kurt Russel, and Josh Lucas.

The Davinci Code

http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/da_vinci_code/

This time there are actually scenes from the movie. The book was awesome and I have faith Ron Howard can do a good job as well. Th cast is stellar with Tom Hanks, Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina, Audrey TauTou, Paul Bettany, and Jean Reno.

Ice Age 2

http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/ice_age_2/trailers.html

This also has scenes from the movie, unlike before. Great movie for those who have kids or can still be kids at heart when they go to the movies!

Superman Returns

http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/supermanreturns/

Will be interesting to see how they do with superman with the technology that is available today. Kevin Spacey as a villian is an inspired choice in my book and will likely make me plant myself in the theater.

Inside Man

http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/insideman/

Ok, this trailer intrtuiged the hell out of me. Denzil is generally awesome in his roles and Clive Owen seems to have a great take on the calulated and cool criminal but..... what REALLY intruiges me is the portrayal of Jodie Fosters character as a potentially rather sleazy (non sexual) one and THAT is unusual for her.

Annapolis

http://www.apple.com/trailers/touchstone/annapolis/

Looks like it could be a great military movie drama not surrounding war.

Hostel

http://www.apple.com/trailers/lions_gate/hostel/

Quentin Tarantino's latest movie looks to be a rather dark tale based on true events where you could pay to play out your sickest and most violent mirder and torture fantasies.

Actually, Hostel was written and directed by Eli Roth (who did "Cabin Fever") Tarrantino just produced. It's at the top oif my must see list along with King Kong (checking it out this weekend) and I'm actually looking forward to Poseiden. As much as I dislike remakes, if they are done well, then it's not as much of a concern for bitching.

Inside Man looks pretty damn good too. I'd heard about it, but that's the first time I've seen the trailer.

Thanks, TE. They all look interesting. :)

I don't like remakes, but I'll give the new "Poseidon" a shot. They had a television remake on recently that was a snooze...literally. I think I fell asleep during it. (Why does everything have to have terrorists in it now?)

I adore Kevin Spacey. :)

Yeah.. though if I had to choose one movie from the group it would be The DaVinci First with Inside Man a close second.

On another note it looks like King Kong might be a flop.... although Wednesday opening oftewn are closer to a holiday so that might made it a bit softer than normal. But this movie could turn out to be one of the all-time biggest flops if it doesn't have a monster weekend.

I still haven't seen Harry Potter or The Chronicles of Narnia and I want to see both of those before I see Kong.

Actually Memoirs of a Geisha looks very interesting and one of those films that's visually breath-taking (read, artsy).

I do some ghostwriting for movie-related websites and I'm just a big old film nerd. While it would seem I only enjoy bad movies and slashers (which I do adore), I like a good artsy fartsy pitcure as much as a good old fashioned blow shit up movie. The main movies I can't stand are romantic comedies or anything with Julia Roberts (outside of the Ocean's movies).

I just bring more attention to smaller movies.

TE, Harry Potter was great and Narnia took my breath away, definitely in my top 10 of the year.

That is a VERY mood specific movie and one I would wait for DVD to watch if I watched it at all. It's also a "please the woman" type of movie and I'm happily single right now!! ;>))
