Heres my point: This is the SAME guy who on the front cover of CNN was being accused as one of the captors in the Israeli Olympic Hostage incident, which they adamantly denied. The resemblance was crazy, and people involved were 110% sure it was him.

I am curious, though, about the individuals that call the Holocaust a "myth." Do they think 6 million people just got up and went for coffee and never came back, while somehow mysteriously at the same time mass graves, ovens, etc., etc., just happened to pop up? :blink:

The current President of the United States believes that scientists with an opinion offensive to those who bankroll him are bureaucrats, and is rumored to think that God appointed him (Anton Scalia's mommy would be so proud).

If he lived in the United States and was a Christian, he'd be talking about niggers instead of (or in addition to) Jews; or clean him up nice he could appear regularly on the Lou Dobbs "Immigration Scare Du Jour" show appearing five nights a week on CNN.

And as far as the hostage situation goes - it was not a very nice thing to do.

Whether, on the grand scale of things, it was the equal of the U.S. operation of a puppet government in Teran for the 25 years previous is subject to discussion. It certainly pales in comparisson to providing Iran's enemy with chemical and biological weapons, or shooting down a civilian airliner.

i think there is a difference between trent lott and others and a head of state enciting hate, actively destabilizing the region, developing nuclear weapons and pushing his country up the list of those most likely to be victems of a first strike nuclear attack.

At the time Trent Lott made remarks suggesting that America would have been a better place if America had stuck to the principles of Jim Crow, he was the most powerful Republican in the United States Senate.

The point I am trying to make is that it's not like he was some trailer trash contending that everything has been hunky-dory since Reconstruction except for a few malcontents.

I wish there was a way to make the Mullahs go away. I wish there was a way to prevent a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

I just don't find the fact that he said what he said particularly shocking.
