OK...let's review.

Man in a banana suit is "rescuing" or whatever a "knife fight" that is being filmed.
Police officer thinks it's "real."
Bystander yells "Oh my God, don't shoot the banana!" (I think that's my favorite line of the entire incident.)

Now, I can see charging/fining/whatever for not getting the proper permits for filming a television bit in public and snarling traffic.

What I can not see is that someone didn't sit that officer down and have a very long talk with him about thinking *anything* involving a six foot banana being "real."

I think he should be behind a desk for a while before there's another produce incident that ends in tragedy.
