Blindfolded Santa Hanging From Noose At Home Upsets Neighborhood

A large blindfolded Santa hanging from a noose from a high tree in a man's yard has angered homeowners in a Florida neighborhood, according to a Local 6 News report.

The Santa also has his hands and legs bound by some type of wire.

Since the display was put in the tree, neighbors have called police to get it removed, but officers said there is nothing they can do because the homeowner is protected under the First Amendment, Local 6 News reported.

This happened in Florida right... Santa's lucky/unlucky he wasn't shot first. ;)

Ahahahahaahaha.. not something I would do and if I had young kids I am sure I would be quite upset. That said, that's funny as all hell even if it is in complete bad taste!

I'm over here on the Left Coast in year round sunshine, and we have our share of nutcases, too, so you may be indeed on to something, Red. :)

I live in a small town, though, that is unincorporated, so we have horses, etc., around here. And Christmas lights out the wazoo. There's a house up on the mountain that has a huge star that must be up on a pole. They turn it on the day after Thanksgiving every year. It's really cool. I hope they know how much they've improved the holidays for everyone (for miles) that can see it.

We don't have a Santa hung in effigy, though. It would have been splashed all over the local news if we had. Our locals do love that sort of negative hyperbole.

I tried to work up some kind of reaction to the Santa effigy thing and just couldn't. Totally neutral on the whole thing. Oh. With one exception. Points given for somebody realizing what symbolic speech is and First Ammedment protection.

Second...Trev will get on a plane to Philly and smack the crap out of you with a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich! :)
