David Duvall and his 2-year-old daughter were hospitalized with burns on the head suffered during the Maryland Renaissance Festival in Crownsville in October after a female acrobat mishandled a flaming wand. The woman, seeking a volunteer from the audience, asked Duvall, in front of his family, if she could set fire to his bald head, and Duvall said, "Sure." Said Duvall's wife, later, "We thought they knew what they were doing." [WRC-TV (Washington, D.C.)-AP

I have a question.

If the inept individual was setting fire to his "bald head," how did his two-year-old daughter get burned? Surely he didn't have the child sitting on his shoulders when he stupidly volunteered for this?

I had one with a giant FTN across the front. One day I wore it into the building, grabbing something on the way to the beach and a senior teach stopped me and demands to know what the FTN means (as if he didnt know) and I told him "Find That Nuke" and he wandered off muttering and cursing

I did an entire training manual for my job based on the USS Timothy Leary LSD 25. The call sign for the Leary’s helicopter was “Foxtrot Tango November.”

A rough draft of one of my evaluations contained the classic line “his military bearing occasionally shows signs of burning out.”

one would think that basic, innate instincts like that of self preservation, would reflexively take over when someone asks a question like "excuse me, can i light your head on fire". i would guess that renaissance fairs, star trek conventions and all night dungeons and dragons games might be prone to yield results that deviate substantially from expected norms.

gotta love darwinism :)
