Yeah, major pain in the ass. Unfortunately, we have people around the office that not only open attachments, they also reply to spam :headwall: :headwall:

They think they can win a lottery without buying a ticket, they think they got a new mortgage deal without ever having applied, they think that some guy in Nigeria really does want to send them 10 million bucks.

And to top it off, when they realize they have fucked up, they do stuff like delete the emails so (in their minds) no one will know they were the ones who did it and will lie their asses off to cover themselves.

I have openly advocated firing anyone who attempts to cover their ass when they fuck up but I am consistently overruled by an owner who is almost as clueless as some of the people he hires.

Worst part was last week after sober got sent to some of our clients the Acccount service rep who opened the attachment did not seem to be able to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation. We are a data processing company and we are sending virus infected emails to our clients and teh person who is supposed to help the clients can't understand what the big deal is

I've had about 5 of them so far. Norton is deleting them for me.

My neighbor got two attached to letters from the FBI and CIA. He asked me about them because road runner advised him not to open them. I told him about the virus and reminded him not to open anything from someone he didn't know and that the FBI and CIA wouldn't contact him by email.

I keep forgetting how many people can actually be fooled by this.

My Norton has been busy deleting probably five thousand of them by now.
