Mmmmmm Pasta does sound good. I think I'll surpise my husband and cook dinner tonight.
Excuse me a minute while I go take the frozen lasagna from M&M's out of the freezer and pop it in the microwave.

Pasta is easy.
You boil the water, you take the pasta out of the box, you put it in the water.
Who could fuck that up ?

I had already resigned myself to being labeled as high as arm pit stench in your book, so I'm not hurt.
Sar, Nick is trying to make spaghetti from scratch, and that IS indeed an arduous task, my sister took the Culinary arts program up at the Uni here, we got homemade pasta ONCE.

Well hell, that would be hard. He should at least start with eggs and flour and some water :yowsa:

Homemade pasta is a bit of a bitch. I've done it. (I wish I knew where my drying rack went. It was fantastic.) It takes practice, so don't feel bad about having to take a couple of runs at it.
I've made homemade pierogies, ravioli, halushi...and frankly, it's not worth the work to see it devoured in that short a time.
My husband hosed the homemade ravioli that took all damned day and trashed my kitchen while standing leaning against the stove. It never even made it into the dining room. I was...annoyed.
Yes, it's delicious and better than anything you could buy.
I'd rather make reservations.

You're much better than armpit stench, I'm not really sure where you got that idea from... :(

It turned out fan-fucking-tastic.
The difference in taste is incredible. Normal bought spaghetti is drab tasteless crap by comparisson.

:) I enjoy buying the premium pasta from the refrigerator case, Butoni, etc. And the difference in taste there to boxed is likewise so amazing.
I've heard making pasta can be a bitch. As you had said, getting the right blend together, especially the first time, can take some doing.
KitchenAid has a very nice pasta attachment for it's mixer. I'm thinking that's the way to go as opposed to a one-job-only pasta machine.
Homemade pasta is fantastic, but a bitch to make. My ex mother-in-law made her pasta from scratch and the sauce started by picking the tomatoes from the yard. When I married him it was required that I spend the day with her and learn how to do it.
Kudos to you Nick for doing it.

pasta from scratch is a pain in the ass, but so worth it...and if home made pasta doesn't get you laid, nothing will (hint, hint Dravyk and TE, learn to make pasta ;-)))
sorry, it's Monday and I'm feeling a tad cunty...
