Bah fucking humbug.

It's a lot harder to get in the spirit of things without little ones around.

My girlfriend's nieces and nephews are teenagers, who therefore should be incarcertated or banished to someplace far, far away until they reach maturity at about 30.

Nice looking tree, though ...

I still can't quite comprehend putting the tree up before thanksgiving though. Usually the 1st week in december when I had one.

That's a beautiful tree.
It's hard to get in the spirit when Santa is walking around in shorts.

Yup I think that'd effectively kill any Christmas spirit I had, if I saw that. LOL

Red...how true. I remember the insanely disassociative feeling of my first Christmas shopping in Southern California. Walking out of a store that looked like a store anywhere: decorated for the holidays; carols piped over the intercom; purchasing gifts...to passing over the threshold into blazing sunshine and temperatures in the 80's. I'd consistently forget to have the sunglasses on *before* I went outside in the early days, which resulted in stabbing pain and my head slamming back.

When you hear a lawnmower being run on Christmas day you begin to think something has gone horribly wrong with your life.

But then...the telephone calls to the family back east. "Oh, really? Four feet of snow just fell? Temperatures below freezing? Gosh, that's terrible. Oh, here? It's 82 degrees and the sun is shining."

heheheheh *That* never gets old! :okthumb:

el pres...yes, sadly, they do seem to do that. I remember being a kid, when the summer seemed three years long. Now I'm lucky if a year feels like it's a year long.

Disney Florida used to do a night where they arranged "snowfall" etc when I lived in Orlando.

It was cool :)

The white Xmass thinbg is and always was a myth. though...

Something like 10% of the population of Canada and The US have a white Xmass.(I think Vancouver had a white Xmass once in the last 10 yrs for example)

Here in Vancouver ( on my mountain LOL) it is bright sunshine but cool) but within an hour and a half drive you are in the mountains with snow.

It does get you in the mood :)

Oh... and you guys really are a fucking depressing bunch LOL

"Oh time flys..
"bahhumbug...

miserable gits...

LOL

That one is a seriously expensive fake LOL

The shop is probably still echoing with my disbelieving cry of "For a fucking Tree!!!"

Mind you ,you can't tell its fake til you get to about 3 foot away and they sent two people to install it and have it all "fluffed" and shit.

The others in the house will be real though just to get the smell.

Blue Spruce I reckon :)

The *only* thing that got my husband to do "Black Friday" shopping was the sale price on the artificial tree. (That's the "Day After Thanksgiving SALE! Shopping" to those who don't know.)

The only thing I miss about "real trees" is the smell. I *loved* the smell. I most certainly do not miss vacuuming needles out of the rug for months, the fire hazard, or the "extra tree disposal costs." (I *hate* that last one. You'd think something as inherently biodegradeable and good for a landfill as a real tree would be something they'd be happy to have.)

I've tried hanging a "real wreath" on the wall. It wasn't the same. I've had some dandy allergic reactions to various "real Christmas tree smell" products, though.

Awesome tree. :)

The line about the tree fluffers cracked me up.

Can you imagine a more boring job?

Outside of submitting galleries, that is.
