I do, but I am of the notion that that sort of thing doesn't happen until Thanksgiving. I'm nice and orderly that way. About 4 houses in my neighborhood seem to disagree though.

We decorate the outside (lightly) somewhere between Thanksgiving and New Years (and it comes down sometime between New Years and Halloween)

We decorate the inside about a week before Christmas and have it all down on New Years day.

No reason to make the agony any longer than it needs to be :yowsa:

I do not, no.
I might take advantage of the sales on Xmas lights on Boxing day (week) sales though, and buy a shitload of white lights & decorate the interior of my place with them..

Of course you don't, duh. You're in Canada, the lights would probably melt your igloo :yowsa:

I had to go to a real house, I'm too hot... I melted my own igloo.

ummmm we decorated one of the trees (the 12' fake one) this lastweekend.

We have 3 more to do.Real ones so they are later.

And I have a firm coming next Tuesday to get the outside main lights on the house up...there is about 2000 of them I think :)

Once they are up we will add the rest around the bushes and shit lol

Then we intend to the most tastless house on the street...

The kids have "made" me buy a 6' snow globe for outside with an airblower and a 5' snowman

there will be pics.

And I will accept the mocking :)

I saw one of those, and really wanted it. It was a Charlie Brown one. I decided it was too much money for right now though.

So I shall enjoy vicariously through your pics :)

Down the road from where I used to live, there's a big drug dealer's house, they have a decent sized yard & set up projector screens & lights to make it look like snow was falling down their roof, and there was a scrolling marquee style christmas scene of Santa going across their garage door, (the scene kept on rotating) and they had a lot of lights in every bush, along the fence, up the driveway, in the trees, and a lot of other gawdy decorations. The light shows were pretty nifty though!

The house across the street from me put out their lights the day after Halloween. I've been looking at one of those snowglobes for weeks now. It gets old after the first couple of glances.
This is my first Christmas in this house, so I don't know how "into it" the neighborhood gets... although I did notice driving in Sunday that another house down around the bend has also gotten a snowglobe. The (very fat) woman was standing outside beating on it trying to get the "snow" inside to stop sticking to the plastic. Apparently she has a static problem.

We'll trim the house with lights and a wreath on the door but that's it. Maybe, MAYBE get my parents' old light-up three-foot Frosty out of their attic and put it out on the porch for the kids. Between the two houses I mentioned above, our power grid is already overtaxed, no need for me to add to the gaudiness and cause a blackout.

Inside though we'll decorate prettily... a nice tree in the front window and everything done up in deep burgundy, forest green, and gold. But NOT and I repeat NOT until the weekend after Thanksgiving. I'm not into this "let's race the retail market to see who can get the decorations out sooner" bullshit.

Our Wal-Mart was starting on its Christmas section in early August this year. Ugh.

Nearly every house in my neighborhood already has them up but no one will turn them on until Friday.

Oh, I can't wait for the annual heavy sigh followed by "are you going to make me put lights outside this year?" talk. (I love tradition!)

Our new neighbors are so nice I'm tempted to have the lights put up. I'm also tempted to say "give it a miss this year."

We're going to use the top of the artificial tree that he bought for our very first Christmas together as a table top tree. We rearranged the furniture and have no place to put the big one. Every year I buy a new "Father Christmas" for my collection, or a new angel. (I alternate some years, some years I crack and buy both.)

With cats, we have to be very careful what we put on the tree. Haven't had tinsel or certain kinds of ornaments in decades. I love the look of candy canes on the tree...but hate saying "why on earth would a cat want to EAT a candy cane?!?!?" (So far, no answers have been forthcoming. Del even takes the candy cane out of his mouth and looks at me with that "I didn't do that....really!" expression.)

All decorations will be put up sometime in December. I get so burned out if they go up to early. My "ho-ho-ho" has a progressively shorter shelf-life as I get older.
