no, not posting, so you all can save the applause.

I think I quit as trying to do any freelance programming work.

So, time to turn my attention to other ventures I guess. Not sure what they are..lol...

Whatever your plans are right now, I just wish you goodluck. I just don't think being tired was the only reason why you chose to quit.

Ok Brainiac, tell me what my other reasons are please? I am sure I would benefit greatly from your inate power to delve into my mind from somewhere out in cyberspace.

I don't think answers to questions like that are in the bot's programming.

I empathise by way of my youngest daughter, who was in and out of mainstream site design faster than you can blink. She cut her teeth on adult sites, which I still think is the best way to learn, so she was solid on loading time, navigation...you know, all that sort of good stuff we know and they don't.

She got tired of screaming those things. She got tired of "oh, and yes, I remembered one more thing I want the site to do." She got tired of "I changed my mind." She got tired of doing the "amount quoted divided by the hours put into this frigging thing" and coming up with an amount in cents.

I got tired of watching her in pain.

She got a real life job and designs sites for fun and tosses 'em up on her shareware site when she feels like it.

And designs graphics for Mom, of course. :)

There were toooo many clueless morons. Ok, most of them didn't even know what the web was. "www" was not in our vocabulary. But still! Idiots idiots idots.

Ironically, today I read this, and I read an artilce over at Porn Resource, that say the same thing 10 years later.

Yes indeed. And it isn't as if she's lacking in coping skills. I hit her with "I'd like you to make me a 'freeple'" and she did a great job. I gave her a rough mental image of what I wanted my imaginary creature to look like for one of my tgps, and off she went with it.

It's for the "TGP Project," so the site is far from finished, but you can meet Freeple here http://www.freeplelinks.com/

I was about to go into all the sordid details then reconsidered. This last project was beyond nightmare and the final draw came last night after I told him I had 2 more pieces to tweak from the server move and then we could start loadtesting and all (again...we were at this point 2 prior times..the first one he changed direction, the 2nd one the server started acting weird so he switched servers and at the same time server configuartion) He came back at me to hold off because he was gonna switch servers again this morning.

My first reaction was to send him an email asking why ???, after I sent that though, I sat here and thought about it and decided it doesn't matter why. I'm done. I then sent him his money back via paypal with a note saying sorry it didn't work out and then emailed him that I had sent his money back with an additional note of "I can't hit a moving target".

haven't heard anything back since then, although I did have an icq waiting from last night when I fired it up today with why he was switching servers again.

So, at this point I don't know if he knows I am off the project or not..lol...

But, his payment was returned and I have not wiped the scripts or the database off the server so my conscience is clear.

Still feel like I gave up though, but thats just that stupid paranoia ridden part of my brain that I need to have lobotomized...
