Not to downplay all the problems this country is having but I have always heard that the French were some of the most peaceful and non-violent people there are in the world.:D

Thanks to the sensationalist media we have here in the states it seems like all we are seeing is the images of violence and not being told the true underlying reasons why all this is happening. :idontknow

What's the real story? Anyone got the facts? No opinions please.:zipped_h4

No matter what your nationality, ethnic group or religion, there comes a time or situation when something snaps.

Unfortunately, I stopped trusting American news agencies to deliver anything but hyperbole and "if it bleeds, it leads" a long time ago.

I do know, however, that no matter where most riots occur, one of two words seem to always appear. One is "young," the other is "students."

As much as I hate to even sound like the mindless French-bashers, "To the barricades" is not a rallying cry limited to the French Revolution. They love to beat the fuck out of one another.

Of course, I can understand why people love to bash France - after all, they couldn't even beat the Vietnamese.
