Happy Halloween, everyone! :waving:

Just got off the phone with my youngest daughter, who is preparing for a party this evening, the good food/interesting liquor (she's fallen in love with something called "UV Cherry Vodka," I believe she said) and a stack of horror films. She sounded so impossibly cheerful and happy that it was the best New Year's gift I could have received. (Feel free to look that one up if you care enough. Otherwise, pm me and ask.) Anyhoo...nothing like a happy, happy phone call from the daughter who just got the job she so wanted at the local gaming store to set the day right.

I have to admit, despite missing certain things about my children's childhood terribly, I most certainly do not miss the "trick-or-treat, worry about drunk drivers, poisoned candy, sexual predators" aspect of my children's celebration of Halloween. I also don't miss putting on the cursed "Halloween Carnival" at the elementary school. (A good 80 hour per week volunteer job that made me despise the color orange for years.)

Trevor told me not to answer the door tonight but i so had to see the sweet little faces at my door, i never expected a line of the little rats all the way down my drive. Now Dan's got no sweets left

Well it's nearly 5:30, dark out already and the little moochers, I mean, darlings will be here any minute. Time to fork out the cavity makers! :bdance:

I actually miss that element of Halloween. I enjoyed it when we lived on the flat, arranged-in-squares streets of Louisville, but up on this dark, dangerous hill, we don't get trick-or-treaters.

Thusly, my house is candy-free. Really a good thing, though. I've lost 7 pounds on my first "Weight Watchers Week." :)

Happy Halloween!!!

I have to send my husband out to get candy just in case we get any little kiddies. We just moved into a new community and our neighbor said that he's never gotten any trick or treaters but I want to be prepared just in case.

And if there's no kiddies then that means more sweets for us! :okthumb:
