If you could go back in time and live in any period of time, what would it be?

The Dark Ages?
The Renaissance?
Napoleonic Era?
Middle Ages?
1800's America?
etc...

or maybe something even more specific?

All eras would be great to live in if you were rich :)

Chris...this is something that I've actually thought a lot about. Every time I do research for something I write I end up falling in love with a time period. As far as "living" in an era, I wouldn't choose any one but this one. There are many that I'd like to visit for a time, though. 19th century America, in many different areas of the country; Victorian England; North America before the arrival of the first Europeans; the first CroMagnan tribes to see how their society was constructed; the late 19th century when my greatgrandmother first stepped foot on American soil after a boat ride from Ireland.

The list goes on....
I'd always want to come home, though.

Tough question... I'll have to think about it.

I'd like to have been a gunslinger in the wild wild west. I probably wouldn't last five minutes though. :)

Deadwood has a lot to answer for ;)

Every since being hooked on "The Time Tunnel" as a child, I've been fascinated with time travel movies and books. It's led to some fascinating (read: "loud and contrary") discussions with my husband regarding whether or not it's possible to go back in time and change history. Yes, you can go back in history, prevent a woman from being hit by a car and make Starfleet cease to exist; or no, you can't change history because whatever you did has already happened.

Someday I'll write the novel in my head. Someday.

I've thought about this before and I really don't know if I would want to live in the past at all. I like showers and indoor plumbing too much.

I would much rather travel into the future. I'd love to be aboard a starship and see what's out there.

I would have liked to have been old enough to fully appreciate the 80's. I love the clothes and music.

I'm such a retro girl.

I would have liked to live during the Amazonian era, that geologically short period directly between the messofazoidian and the papraginian eras when the ratios of males to females was approximately 1:100,000 and all the women were perfect specimens.

Ya know, a time that even I could get laid ?

Prior to pretty much at least the early twentieth century, it wasn't considered living.

It was considred "surviving".

I'm drawn to the deep South thing, but only if I can be white, rich, and I can be there before the Civil War hits.

Outside of that the early 1900's.

It would be fun to live back in caveman times. Just for a day or two.
And have a lighter in my pocket. LOL
