View Full Version : IPod Video: I'm doing a 180

Eh, I still don't get it, but ...

I notice the IPod video format is 320x240 (QuickTime 7.x only) http://www.apple.com/quicktime/tutorials/creatingvideo.html

Now while I, personally, have always thought even on the web this size is just too damned small -- and forunately on the computer I can usually right click and have it go to full screen size -- something that can't obviously can't be done on the IPod.

Well, just because I don't like the size and I don't get it ... It's also obvious that there are plugins feeds and paysite areas even in this "age of broadband" that still use the 320x240 format a whole lot -- and quite successfully.

So, I've done a total 180. I take it all back. This thing is obviously going to fly.

My point is, as a business person I do not have to get it. I only have to get that the consumers get it. ;)

I can see this being big, both porn and non-porn video.

And, although the IPod format/audience is fueling this, I can see it getting really big when other formats and non-IPod specific hardware and feeds come out and give it a run for the money. That should start soon and happen by Spring. Meanwhile, IPod is going to rule Christmas.

Yup, who gives a shit if it's something you yourself would use as long as you understand that other people will and you can profit off it nicely!! :>))

Well what I really like is the proper use of italics.

Dravyk is a master in the use of italics. If it weren't for him, I might be bolding everything where italics would have been the proper thing to use.

There is nothing worse than some idiot mis-using italics.

You can get some great movie clips into 320x240, i've just signed up at a sponsor who's offering 160x120 video banners and i must admit it looks quite good:

Imagine that double the size.

A java bot with a small php frontend, still needs some optimalisations but i'm a happy guy as long as it runs. ;)

As a business person you're also a consumer. In fact as a business person you should be a better consumer and question things. It's not wrong to question that tiny screen. It's impossibly small and not where I'm interested in watching much of anything.

Personally it's a waste, viable for certain purposes but worthless for others.
