Make your mind up guys is the globe warming or not????

I need to go out in my gas guzzling 4x4 again soon..

but my question is...

What is causing the freaky weather the world is seeing now

I have a theory but lets hear yours first

Exactly, it'll be interesting when the US is flocking over the Mexican border... would that be ironic?

I'd rather eat my frozen testicles then ask the French for anything... anyway Spain has a much better climate than France... and it's full of Brits. ;)

Tad harsh, Drav, don't you think?

Global warming is causing the weather changes. Cold where it should be warm; warm where it should be cold; rain where there shouldn't be; drought where there should be rain.

San Diego County had the third rainiest season last year in a hundred years. So much stuff grew then died during the summer that we are overloaded with fuel for "fire season." One misplaced match around here and it could get horrific.

Im all for taking over Mexico. Might as well anyways where I live its 85% hispanic. Oh how I love Mexican women though. Shaving is new for most,
but I own a Mach 3 Turbo.
As for the weather changing, its just all the damage we do to the earth, mothernature is dealing some payback.

Global warming is undoubtedly one of the factors causing the weather we've had lately, regardless of what jezuz is telling Bush.

That being said, I think that there are also natural factors at play. Global warming didn't cause the dust bowl, for example, which was only 80 years ago, and casued far more devastation than what we've seen in the last couple of years.

We are due ....

- another ice age

We are waaaaay overdue ...

- a change in the magnetic poles, which has begun, that will send the protective belt that filters cosmic rays getting through, to go out of whack

- a supervolcanic eruption, that will probably happen in Yellowstone Park

- a species killing massive meteor and/or comet strike

The moon is continuing to move away from us which will at some point destablize Earth's wobble.

The fuel that is at the core of our planet is starting to go out. It helps propel our magenetic and gravitational fields.

... We're so going to be fucked. http://oprano.com/msgboard/images/smilies/huh.gif

And that's my happy message for today!! http://oprano.com/msgboard/images/smilies/thumbup.gif http://oprano.com/msgboard/images/smilies/broccoli9.gif http://oprano.com/msgboard/images/smilies/hearts.gif

Why not just throw in the fact that the expansion of the universe is finite and be done with it. ;)

... Of course our sun will grow to 10,000 times it's size and go out past the orbit of Mars and melt the Earth long before the universal expansion ends. :)

Ya gotta go and be nice. I *hate* it when you do that!!!!

OK, so I haven't actually wanted to throttle you in years. Absolutely *years.* So long ago that I can't even remember *why* I wanted to throttle you.

It was a nice burn, though...even if I had to tie the truth in a knot to make it. :)

Did nobody mention melting icecaps yet?

Melting ice caps = colder oceans = colder temperatures in areas where the temperature depends on the ocean's temperature, e.g. coastal areas on the northern hemisphere and down under.

More extreme temperature variations = bigger storms.
