With all of the buzz of ipod porn, I have to wonder if the lawyers for Apple will be standing by to nail people registering domains with the name "ipod" in them?

I'm not sure they'd want their named associated with a site like, for example, ipodcumguzzlers, etc.

They might also be leary of being associated with more extreme (and illegal) forms of porn being promoted for their devices.

Like a lot of other people, I've been looking into ipod-related domains and it's always went through my mind of how nasty they might get with regards to their name being used to promote porn.

I bet one could get away with just "pod" in the domain. :groucho:

probably so

...and no, I'm not seeking legal advice on a webmaster board, hehehe
just guaging opinions on it...

I imagine their attorneys are definitely on standby. It would be a violation of a registered trademark. They might even take a shot at "pod" related domains, but that one is a little iffy, perhaps. Again, not giving legal advice, just an opinion.

Maybe use "eyepodwhatever.com" :)

How about "idiottechnogeekfreakwhowillbuyanythingcumsplatter. com"? :)

Actually it is Podcasting not iPodcasting. You don't even need an iPod for it.

(You know this means they will also own "podcast" if they get it)

Apple's corporate lawyers are on alert.

Apple's outside counsel are salivating.

Judges are stocking up on caffine, because cases like this are some of the most monumentally boring things that come before them.

You know this means they will also own "podcast" if they get it

Don't think it's an automatic '"b" follows "a"' here.

Apple is pretty ruthless about protecting their trademarks.

Interesting Topic - My guess is any smart porn company will remove the "I-Pod" portion soon enough ... and make it something along the lines of 'Compatible with I-Pods'

I wouldn't think you you were to state something was comaptible with it you would have any problems. However saying "Ipod Porn" infers that Apple is actually behind it, and IMHO - legal action is just amatter of time...

There are so many people who are going to get the nod from their lawyers :okthumb:
