Adam Curry Predicts Podcast Porn Explosion
October 16, 2005

Adam Curry, former MTV vj and president of PodShow Inc., predicts that Apple's release of iPods with video support will lead to a video podcast porn explosion.

"Porn is just going to be huge," Curry commented in a recent Daily Source Code podcast.

Apple's latest iPods include support for video playback, including video podcasts that can be made and distributed by anyone with an Internet connection.

"The porn guys are just going holy moly in gratitude for the new market that's opened up to them," adds Curry.

In addition to adult podcasts and video podcasts gaining in popularity, Curry predicts that all types of media will soon be delivered via RSS feeds.

Here is an example that I thought was good.

Saw this hint over one of the Mac sites that I frequent but it works on a PC too. You do need to have the latest version of iTunes, version 6 (http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/) for this to work.

In iTunes under Advanced: Subscribe to Podcast menu item and point it to this URL: http://del.icio.us/rss/tag/system:filetype:mov+funny

Now iTunes will subscribe to the latest funny vids for your enjoyment each day. Could just as easily be porn.

CNN has an article about Podcasting.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/10/14/spark.podcast.reut/index.html
"I'm thrilled by the possibilities of combining devices," said 'Soccergirl,' whose opinionated and sexually suggestive program was listed among the 40 most popular podcasts on Apple's iTunes service."

Do non Mac people actually install iTunes?

I did once on my WIN98 setup but it sucked big time, never bothered with it since then.

The mp3's can be played on any device, it doesnt need to be itunes, Apple just wants to control it :)

I didn't think it would even install on anything below Windows XP or Mac X. According to CNN and the other news sites iTunes has over 75% of the market.

I had a few MP3 players before I went the iTunes/iPod route. All I can say i this actually works without hassle and the iTunes music store has a better selection that any of the local music stores so it is about the only place that I buy from anymore.

I have a three year old iPod so it doesn't do vids but to be honest I don't have any real desire to watch vids on an iPod but then I also don't watch porn or even much TV.

I did replace my Vette's stereo with one that my iPod interfaces with so now while driving I have around 3000 tracks to choose from. I had already replaced my home CD with iTunes streamed to my home music system using Airport Express (http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/) so now I no longer own any CDs.

It nice, no matter if I'm home, at the gym, at the beach, driving, or whatever all of my music is with me including all my playlists and everything. The iPod also syncs with my address book and calendar which is convenient.

I just want to know what you are doing still running Win98?

Just saw this while checking out this morning's news sites.
Seems Apple has made the cover of Time magazine again.

"This is partly a story about a company called Apple Computer. It's also partly a story about a fancy new iPod that plays videos as well as music and that could dramatically change the way people entertain themselves. But it's mostly a story about new things and where they come from, about which there are a few popular misconceptions."
