I got one that my pappy used to say. I am pretty sure it's just a variation of another but it goes on to say:

"Son, you can spit shine a turd all day, but when the day is over, all you really got is a rag that smells like shit."

Damn I love that one. :) So true too in SO many cases. What'r yur favorites?

Never strive to be irreplaceable in your job. If you can't be replaced you also can't be promoted.

My Dad had two quotes, I will neverf forget.

One late night my Dad and I got home and I was trying to put the key in the key hole of the door.

It was dark and I could not fine the hole. My Dad said:

"Son if you can't find the whole, put a little hair around it". :)

Another famous quote from my Dad was;

If the item does not have a price...it's free! :)

I loved my Dad. He always felt that humor is the best means of laughter. :)

Always acknowledge a fault. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more.
