I swear whenever I bellow at my cats for doing something they understand every word and run like hell. However, what they're thinking is "we'll take another run at that when she's not looking." :)

Another way I know they understand is that I use their names when bellowing. The unamed cats don't even twitch, even though Mommy's voice is rattling the rafters. The guilty one takes off.

Oh. I just looked at the Humane Society calendar on the wall next to my desk. October is "Adopt A Dog Month." :dogstare:

It also says "Your dog has sort of a 'sixth sense' that allows him to understand your mood. He accomplishes this by being a master at reading body language, and can detect subtle changes in voice, tone and posture."

They can also predict seizures in epileptics.
