Suicidegirls has taken down a bunch of member contributed pics and photosets in response to the war on porn :(

http://www.punknews.org/article.php?sid=13930&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0

While we do not believe any of our images are illegal,SG has removed a number of images in order to ensure that we are not targeted by the U.S. Government's new "War on Porn."

We have received no formal government notice to remove these images, however, in the course of our involvement, as witnesses,in a federal criminal prosecution that does not target SG, we have been made aware of the risks posting such content poses the owners of the company. Given the U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' new war on porn task force and it's intent to bring obscenity charges against their loosely defined "Deviant" imagery, we have removed any images with fake blood and any images we felt could be wrongfullyconstrued as sadist or masochist.

Given the natural disasters inLouisiana and Texas, the U.S. Government's numerous foreign war's and the growing U.S. deficit, we feel there are far better uses of government resources then pursuing thelegality of imagery created by consenting adults, but as is usually the case, our opinions are not shared by the Current U.S. Administration. Also, we really miss Bill Clinton.

Yours Truly,
Missy Suicide

In response to Bush's new "War on Birds" because of 116 dead chickens in Asia, the National Audubon Society has decided to remove photos of various fowl from their site to avoid a crackdown.

The Pheasant-tailed Grouse (aka the Cock of the Plains) has been removed first.

It was then followed by the White-bellied Swallow (although apparently the blue Spitz will remain for now) and any image involving birds around Pussy Willows.

~tries to recall~

Weren't there a bunch of threads about this on boards where the site owner posted that, but the girls whose stuff was taken down say they took it down for other reasons?

I may be wrong on that. I just know there has been an exodus of SG's lately.
