I think the folks involved (that I know of, could be some lurkers that have not come forward) are:

Morgan
You
Dom
Trev
TE

I know Morgan, Dom and you are in wait mode on me.

I am not sure where Trev and TE are in it at the moment.

I've ripped an old toplist to peices, so I need to work on the wording, and advertising. Here's where I am:

I have to get off my ass and finish it off

Mine is up and running but needs a lot of tweaking. I've been occupied pretty much constantly with my 9-5 job just recently though so had very little time to do anything significant with it.

I did get round to building myself a recip to add to my galleries. I've started using this on some of my submissions, there is much much more to do though, adding keywords to the meta data, redesigning the TGP page, adding a friends list, getting myself added to toplists, bla bla bla.....;)

How's everyone doing for traffic to their new sites ?

At the moment the only yardstick I have that is easily available is the stats in remote thumbs. I checked yesterday and so far there have been 551 clicks on my galleries since my site "went live" as it were.

Mighty oaks from little acorns grow (hopefully) ! So come on peeps, spill the beans on how your fledgling sites are doing :)

I haven't checked my stats yet. I should do that. Thanks for reminding me! I'll keep ya posted once I do.

ok been a busy weekend...im setting up templates following the awsome dir i might add..:)

and i am to the template part....and my question is.....

The next question is how many rows and after that how many columns you want to produce. The file produced by this template is going to produce a table of the thumbnails available and will fill it as far as it can fill it to a maximum of whatever you put in to the rows and columns settings.

ie: if you tell it 10 rows of 5 columns you are telling the script to pull in 50 thumbs for this template. It is important to note that if we tell it 50 thumbs and there are only 20 available, we will get 30 empty table elements.

lets say i want to have ...mon tues wends thur fri sat sun...etc etc....do i need to make one big table.. or do i make the tables for each section...

im sure you are all sleeping so ill try and work on the logos and such

I am not quite sure what you mean, but I'll give it a shot..

If you wanted seperate pages for Monday, Tuesday, etc....

You could accomplish that by setting up a template for each day and tell the script to update once a week somehow.

If you just want a different set of images each day then you just need one template updated each day.

Does that answer it, or am I missing the point ?

:)

Ok.. how is the 2257 implications handled with Remote Thumbs?

What I've done is setup 2 templates on the remote thums site and I've used virtual includes to call them in to the html page.

The first table is called thumbs1 and I use <!--#include virtual="/html/thumbs1" --> to call it.

The second table is called thumbs2 and I use <!--#include virtual="/html/thumbs2" --> to call it.

It's as simple as that. If you want one for everyday then just make 7 templates. :)

Yes, you build a template and in the "Archive options" select Overall Archive, select the archive period, say 5 days. This will then take the most clicked thumbs and make a template out of them. :)

That could work. But it is not what you are seeing on Trev's.

He is doing the top table as a regular template and the bottom table as a one day archive.

Remote thumbs lets you set up a one day archive or a past archive or both.

The way you do it is to go in and create a new template, then down at the bottom, under archive options switch from normal to archive of template, if you want a one day template (yesterdays galleries) then click in the one day only box, if you want a different time period set the archive period to whatever time period you want (max being 90 days)

At the very bottom in the create archive from template drop down, pick your original template.

Done :)
