Which kind of site sells more for a paysite? Generic softcore, generic hardcore, fetish, niche, story? Or something else?

It all depends on what you want to do. If you want to play with competition, your bigger sellers will be lesbian, teen, amateur etc....customer base is very large....just remember, so is the competition...

On the other hand, if you want to corner a smaller niche...that can be quite lucrative. I have found that smaller niches CAN work really well because the audience is very loyal and willing to pay for the 'good stuff'...albeit, the customer base is also much smaller....BUT, again, so is the competition. ;)

When starting out, try a bit of everything.

Now, figure out what five niches best convert for you and make 50 (sites/galleries) of each.

Ok, more time has passed, which niche has done best for you? Now make a 1000 of them. Make at TGP or a links list or both. Make that niche work for you.

I'd build beast sites , they convert by far the best.

retention ain't that good and you get Hans Burger after you for nicking his content...but ...you can't have everything :)

Why do you always have to be a bastard like that? If she wants to create
a paysite that no one will visit, let her :))

Through Nick's sarcasm, there really is a lesson here.... ;)

....newbs shouldn't start paysites until they learn how to accumulate traffic. :)

A good one. Keep in mind that the "best" niches to be in are probably the most crowded.

What are the stats? 2 or 3 out of every 100 business startups are around after 5 years?

The same person who can sell icemakers to Eskimos might not be able to GIVE AWAY bottled water in the Sahara.

If plushies and grandma armpits are niches, then obviously there are all kinds of tastes to be satisfied out there. Dravyk is right - learn what YOU can sell, then sell the shit out of it.

Honest answer...

The best niche to sell is the one you are into.

I started in amateur and voyeur cause that is my "thing"

Which is why my first site, my first erotic stories site, is the one that made me the most money.

No, I want say I'm into ... though saying mainstream does limit the guessing a bit. hehe

Ok...I'm actually writing a poker book and Doyle Brunson has already agreed to mention it.In his next book

I'm gonna sell it for 19.95 online as an Ebook its working title is:

"How to Consistently Win by bluffing"

I'm also writing one called:

"How to make $1 Million in one year doing internet porn"

The content in each book is the same...

"YOU can't"

That's actually the best advice anyone can give.
You can always sell something much better if you like it.
