Roy Jones challenges to regain his Light Hvy title tonight so I won't be around much , I'll be watching it.

This should be Jones last fight , I don't see him winning this after his last two fights ( both KOs , one by Tarver)

Possibly pound per pound the greatest fighter of the last 10 yrs ,will I think , be knocked out again tonight. I hope he doesn't suffer permanent harm.

Since coming back down to Light Hvy he seems a different fighter. And the fact that he has been knocked out (not , stunned , but knocked right out) in the last two fights is not good.

Chance to see the end of an era , hopefully he can go on to a decent career as a commentator and not end up permanently hurt.

Somehow I've managed to not watch Roy Jones Jr fight ever - how I have done that I'm not sure. Did he really get knocked out in his last two fights ? I thought he was supposed to be practically untouchable ?

He was...

But since coming down , he has hasd a suspect chin. :(

For some reason I keep thinking of Benn vs McClellan , I was in London watching that live and I remeber it vividly.

At first bitching and whining that it looked like Benn was gonna get beat.( Benn got knocked through the ropes , but just wouldn't quit )

Then in the later rounds screaming that they should stop the fight right now.Something was obviously wrong with McClellan in the later rounds he was blinking rapidly looked "not right". ( something that I've never seen reported anywhere but obvious to those watching)

But then it finally being stopped and saying to everyone that this was his best fight , he found with so much heart.Only for that to stop when McClellan was rushed to hospital.

I really have a bad feeling over Jones fighting.

Especially when you see how he was knocked out in his last two fights.

I mean knocked the fuck out...in the last he was on the canvas and out cold for forget 10...more like 50...

LOL , oh yes...

I'm quite into boxing. :)

I'm proud to say I was ringside when Bruno held on at Wembley to beat McCall for the WBC Heavyweight title. :)

Nigel Benn is one tough motherfucker. His fight with Eubank was one of the most brutal I've seen between two British heavyweights.

A couple of years back I really started to get into boxing and reading up about all the old school heavyweights. I'd love to watch Sonny Liston fighting, to back up everything the books say about how hard he could hit. I read a book once about the "Hurricane" Rubin Carter, and he talks about sparring with Liston. He says that he had to quit as his sparring partner because he was leaving the ring with his ears bleeding after Sonny's practise sessions :)

Liston was a mediocre heavyweight slow but heavy hitting and with a good jab ( I've watched a lot of his old videos against various opponents)

He was humiliated by Ali.

He was able to push around Floyd Patterson cause he outweighed him by maybe 30lbs.

Benn and Eubank fought mainly as middleweights and super middles...though I believe Eubank jumped to Cruiserweight at the end of his career. Never heavyweights and I think Benn vs Eubank happened 3 times...that I may be wrong over I can remember one draw and then Eubank beating him though , I think.

( Told ya I was into it) ;-)

And Chris Eubank was a "pugilist , not a boxer (lisp)" ;-)))

boxing could be the most corrupt sport on the planet (horseracing probably has it beat, but i dont consider that a sport).

Horseracing is as bent as a 3 dollar bill .. All the owners and jockeys know who is going to win .. hell we used to get phonecalls not to accept bets on certain horses from ceratin owners as they were a dead cert .. they were too ;) Nothing like telling customers they couldnt bet on that horse .. mind you laying it off was fun lol

Tarver is my neighbor. He fought a good fight. Jones is past his prime, he used to use his speed to dominate fighters, last night he used his speed to hide and run from a better fighter.
