...where would it be and why?

My dream place is Phoenix, for some sound reasons. One is health. Another is that my husband wants to work for the home office of his company. Third is we could afford a nice house there. Fourth, I want to be able to visit the vortexes. Fifth through 115th is...it's not California.

I like where I live. I like my winters to be cold and snowy.
I have to ask, what are the vortexes?

This is just one site, picked at random, to give you a general idea.

Some believe, some don't, some have no opinion, but if nothing else, they're unbelieveably beautiful places.

Alaska in an area where you can only reach it by float plane :)

Cool, a mother earth type spiritual hotspot. Does this have to do with lay lines and the like?
Can you recommend any interesting info links for this?

The best I can tell you to do is do a search on it and pick out the ones that appeal to you the most. This is an area considered sacred by a *lot* of different people - some of them quite "different" indeed - so you have to find the ones that touch you personally.

I read a great article written by an admitted sceptic who went to Sedona...and felt it. Mildly freaked her out, but she was honest about it. She started out "not believing" and came away "having no idea what the hell just happened."

Peaches...I want to visit Alaska someday. I couldn't live there, but I do want to see it. :)

as someone who was born there and lived that life, i can tell you that this would get old really quick. people need people. we are social animals. people that don't need people are not people you want to be around or someone you want to be :)

i am a big fan of Monaco.

I'm happy, I take the shit on the streets - because they're my streets. I can suck down the tax hikes - because it's my tax.

No one bought it did they

Monaco is very nice , but very expensive. :)

The usual trick is get residency , get a crap appartment in Monaco but ACTUALLY live in Cap Ferrat , Cap d'Antibes ...

:)

I love Vancouver.

Its a good blend of everything I was looking for.

I will have my floatplane and will visit KC and Miss Eve when I need human interaction :) I love hanging out by myself now. When I need humans, I get in my car and drive to them ;)

In the Carolinas, it would be nice to have seasons :)

Here in South Florida, all you get is summer and about one month of winter.

Phoenix is great, Morg. If I were going to live in the states and not be in Cali, I'd live in Phoenix for 9 months of the year and Vancouver the other 3...

No, but you do a great impression of Robert de Niro in the American Express commercial. :okthumb:

Red...I could never live in Vegas, because it's my favorite place to visit. If I lived there, I'd have to get a whole new favorite place to visit. :)

We went there for some kind of business thing and I fell in love. Absolutely in love. I felt as if I belonged there, which is not something I feel often. I've moved too much in my life and my roots don't go down easily. They've never gone down here and we've lived here for 17 years.

It is beautiful there...A wonderful place to stay connected
with nature and the universe. :) :)

Right where I do...I may bitch about it sometimes, but Northern Wyoming right off the Big Horn mountains is as good as it gets.

i guess its another story if you have a small plane. :) there is no better place in the world to own a small plane than in alaska. i miss that part a little... just walking over to the plane and flying into the middle of nowhere and landing on a small lake to do some fishing for a few hours.

I love living in Amsterdam, but I dont get any work done.
For pure location I'd pick Barcelona, but I hate the language.

Interlaken, Switzerland.
One of the most beautiful places on this little planet of ours.

Ideally, a little 4 or 5 acre plot of land up in the moutains in one of the small villages.
Very difficult however... even for the wealthiest of folks. It's not the money, it's the availability and permission to live there. The locals decide whether or not you're allowed to buy in.

Amazing you say that....

I was just about to post that I'd be tempted to live in Toronto
I am still ummming and awwwing over buying a little pied a terre just behind The Four Seasons.

Loved the city. And that part reminds me so much of knightsbridge/chelsea/Belgravia in London.

Cool! I used to live in the Annex, when it was still a poor man's area. 27 Walmer Avenue, Apt. 202. My living room window overlooked the back of the Native Friendship Center on Spadina, and we got to watch the parking lot fights every Wednesday when the treaty checks were issued ;)

But....If I could live anywhere....it would be on my sailboat in the Caribbean. Just waiting to kick the young 'un out of the house (in 10 more years) then we are gone!

Havent seen a place I would move to... yet... Havent been enough places still...

Austin, Tx was really nice... but the class divide is just so great, and (no offense) it's in the USA...

Barcelona was great, but maybe a little too big...

Rotterdam was awesome, I liked it much better than Amsterdam as a place to live...

Ill have to see more places ;) Might just move back to my hometown... not a bad place for a family...

We currently have a Lagoon 410 Catamaran that we keep in charter down in the Virgin Islands. We just ordered a new cutter-rigged, Hylas 54 Raised Saloon that we won't see for almost a year! It's perfect for blue water sailing (for that world cruise) and Carol and I can handle it easily ourselves. You can see it here http://www.hylasyachtsusa.com/54/index.html

It was a fight to get that since Carol got really comfortable with all the room on the catamaran. She really wanted the new Lagoon 440, which we probably will get anyway, but just for charter use. Cat's are great party boats and really comfortable, but for real sailing, it's monohulls all the way! :okthumb:

Other people waste money of expensive cars, I just throw mine away on boats! We haven't even seen our Cat in over a year! It's been chartered out too much (well, it's made amazing income), so we have had to use other boats when we go down. The good thing about having a boat in charter (other than revenue) is that if your charter company has bases in other locations, you can use your "Owner's Time" on another boat...for free. This winter, we will be sailing out of Malaysia for a couple of weeks, and late next Spring, we're booked for 2 weeks out of Greece.

Dravy will not like this thread hijacking one bit but.....have you seen Penn & Tellers show Bullshit? They do one episode about the vortexes and its soooooooooo funny! I think a LOT of people on this board would like the show. Its definitely for skeptics!

TE...I was in Oregon for a bit and absolutely fell in love with the state. I adored Medford. Mountains, forest, rivers, fresh water lakes...I thought it was gorgeous.

After reading way too many British mysteries, I used to have a fantasy about living in a small British cottage, with a garden, near a village. I've been assured by British friends that this place exists pretty much only in those books and my imagination. Shame.

LOL I got pick pocketed in Piraeus..but thats a long story.
The Greek Islands are simply awesome!!! You'll love it!! Great sailing :)

Years ago one of my companies formed Yacht owning corportations in Guernsey in order to get them British registered and have them run as tax efficent charters , for clients. I advertised in Yachting World etc.. ( pre my foray into slinging porn on the web) :)

Boats used to my weakness , err..ok so were cars too. LOL

Stink boats though , never got into sailing.

I owned "Lady Valletta" for a while in the early 90s , though it was basically a floating gin palace. :)

I loved this old boat. :)
