After recent occurances, I realize that you can always find someone who's dumb enough to say anything.

In all fairness, though...the people that do the quoting sometimes make it up as they go along.

I love the Rita Rudner line, mostly because I saw the routine on television in which she said it. :)

I can picture Matt Lauer and Jay Leno saying their lines. :)

I've seen that quote before, so it may very well be true and I know the Brooke Shields quote was actually said because I remember it hitting the papers after she said it.

I'm sure that one or two of those are valid quotes, but some of them I've seen floating around for a long time, and have been attributed to a number of different people.
