View Full Version : What's We Talking About?

I dunno. I'm reading a thread about dried fruit and now it's a thread about comedians.

I read a thread (making this up now to make a point) a thread about Katrina, now it's about song lyrics. A thread about automobiles is about mushrooms; the one about NASA became the greatest baseball player and then turned into a thread about whether a northern or southern slope is more sexually desired.

There must be SOME way -- no, I have no clue, that's why I'm putting it out here -- without messing up the community stream of conciousness -- which is wonderful and should be cherished and not be messed with -- to nonetheless keep some sort of track of the flow and ebb of the currents of discourse?

It would seem that it's become the Oprano way... it's also the reason we added this:

Dont be a party pooper Drav! I like the hodge podge :)I do too, Miss Eve!!

Just drives me crazy it when I'm interested in, say a conversation about "Using Peanut Oil in Cooking" and come back to the board three hours later to find it and then can't for a while. Then eventually I stumble on it on page three of a thread entitled "Roman Rulers Who Were Gay". hehe

Again, nothing can be done about it ... except me taking some Ginko Biloba!!

The boards are "conversations". How many times do you stick to one subject in a conversation? Hell, I sometimes change subjects in one sentence ;)

Dravyk...short of hiring gentlemen in black and white striped shirts to bonk people in the head with yellow flags when the topic drifts, I think this is going to have to be accepted as the nature of "group conversations." If two people sit down and attempt to talk "about a subject," there's probably a 50% chance they can stay on that subject for any length of time. Add a third person, and it drops to 30%. Add a fourth person...and any chance of it staying to topic flies out the window. (This is from research that I have absolutely no intention of ever doing someday.)

Scientifically, this is called the "Oh...by the way..." Factor. :)

When the revolution comes, the only person allowed to change subjects will be me.

Where do I find song lyrics about cooking dried comedians in Rogaine while baseball players ski until the golf stops?

If you wanna hang out
You've gotta have a laugh
Rogaine
If the golf is done
Cause we lost the sun

Rogaine

Thats a strike,
Thats a strike,
Thats a strike,

Rogaine

If the golf is done
And you wanna play on
Rogaine
Don't forget this fact
You can ski on track

Thats a strike,
Thats a strike,
Thats a strike,

Rogaine

When too tired to ski
Baseball will set you free
Rogaine
Montys funny as hell
But I prefer Chapelle

Rogaine

I never waxed me lyrics but I did once shave my balls on Anthony's suggestion.

It was not a good thing.... :(

One tiny little prick competing with thousands of others. :(

Don't hear a word they're sayin
Only the echos of my mind ...

Please.
Don't challenge the man.
Just don't.
Just accept that no matter what absurd topics you string together...he'll bounce a song parody at you.

Move along....
