Anthony,

have you played much with Kimbers? Just curious as to how your Kobra compares. I'm looking to change from my pro carry, but it's impossible to test guns down here before buying, so I'm looking for opinions...right now I'm undecided between the pro carry 2, and either of Ed Brown's carry models. Thanks.

Allen,

I'm waiting on a special order for a Kimber Pro Carry II end of this month. I've never fired the Kimber's but have the Les Baer's. The Ed Brown has a distinct solid feeling to it that is lacking in the Les Baer's. It feels more balanced when shooting. I'm too new a shooter to really know the difference in accuracy, as both shot 10 rings for me at 25 feet, and 3 inch groups at 50. From what the guys tell me, all .45's $1500.00 and above all shoot the same, but just have different options. IE. The browns have no Milled pieces to it, the Bobtail, etc which has it price higher than the other .45's. It's the little things, like when I push up on my safety, I feel the solidness of the piece, and feel a heavy and secure click.

I still haven't broken the Kobra carry in yet with 350 rounds, still have a slight creep in the trigger which stops me from using it for competition at this time. I live and breath competitions with my Springfield TRP Operator.

On another note, I vowed never to get another hand gun that wasn't a .45, but this bad boy caught my eye and I had to get it last night. It's a FN Herstal Five Seven Tactical Pistol, which fires the 5.7x28mm rifle round. It carries 20 rounds per clip, and the 5.7x28mm travels 2200 fps! I have to fire it on a rifle range, due to it going through the steel back ends of the pistol range. I'm told very low recoil, similliar to a .380. Can't wait to fire it. :)

SWEET!!!!!!!!!

Last night as I was buying the FN, the owner of the place was ribbing me with, "I thought you said the Ed Brown was the last gun you were buying" since I just got it Monday.

It's addictive, worse than drugs. I've been shooting 5 or so months, with the tally being 10 guns, orignally 11, I sold one to a friend, I'm at 2 guns bought a month.

I'm going to have to see someone about this. :)

I have an addictive personality. I can't even think of how much we spent on Yeyo, this is just a drop in the bucket.

If Jon were here, it would be worse, we both know that!

Owning guns is the Merican way !! :okthumb:

You don't need to invade a small country to be a Merican, but you do have to be ready to invade a small country, or to repel the Jack booted thugs of the ATF when they come to pry the guns from our dead hands.........

Ant

thanks for the info, I'm at the point of getting both :) btw, if you're a relatively new shooter as you say, go try a CZ 75. you'll be amazed at the performance for that price, most guys in the US never touch CZ's and don't know what they're missing. I carry .45's as well, but keep a CZ75D compact in the car.
