center ice like 10-15 rows back give you the best vantage point (at least in the old philly spectrum it did) obviously never having been to a canucks game I wouldn't know how that arena is laid out so I can't say for sure. Behind the benches are always fun but a lot of times it's hard to see with coaches roaming about and players up and down all game.

The most fun place to sit is usually behind the nets (at least for me) some of the biggest checks and a lot of the action goes on back there but you're limited to only seeing about 1/2 the game since you're pretty much only gonna see whats goin on in your end

the only way to see a hockey game is live and in person. watching it on tv doesnt do it justice, especially when you are close to the action.

get as close to the ice as possible, and towards the middle of the rink (its all a matter of opinion), but the closer the better. never ever sat by the bench, sure you get to be by the players, but they are focused on the game... im sure there are people who like to sit behind the net, but i'd rather have a fuller view of the ice. its all personal preference, but just remember - as close as possible :)

I like center ice, about 20-30 rows up. Chris is right ... behind the benches can be distracting (and, at one Blues/Blackhawks game behind the 'hawks bench, nearly resulted in incarceration :)). Don't care much for behind the goals for the reasons Chris mentioned, unless you're even higher up.

I used to have a hockey coach from the UK for months. He spent ALOT of money. Then he got engaged or something and said goodbye...

I didn't read through the entire thread but... ice-level is never any good.
I like to be up 20+ rows in one of the corners. Closer to the fights. :okthumb:

I can get some in Section 120 Row 19 for about $140 a pop.

Centre in 105 row 1 ( i guess on the ice) is 450 plus a pop..

so in the corners 19 rows back is good?

bearing in mind the kids are 12,11, and 7...???

Nick, I used to be a Season Ticket holder for the Peoria Rivermen (AHL Team for the Blues) and I woudl have to say it depends on what you want...

Per : http://www.ticketsnow.com/tickets.cfm/v=626/mapfile=626-1-3-main2.gif

If you want to show your kids a lot of action, checks/cross-checking/boarding/hooking etc, and fights you are going to want to be about Section 103, 109, 113, or 121. I would say very bottom row if you are going in one of those sections or the top of the bottom section .. being in between the two will leave you looking at some tough angles through the glass. You have this problem with the lower seats as well to when there is action on the far end.

If you want an overall good view of every I would suggest 105, 106, 107, 116, 117, or 118 at the top of the lower bowl section. You will be able to see all the action without the glass blocking your views, only downside is if they get in a fight in your corner it can be tough to see..

I personally would never want ice level tickets behind the PB or the Benches... View can't be that great... although I haven't ever sat there... The season tickets i had would of been something like section 116 at the very first row walking into the lower bowl.. Puck knocked a guy out cold 3 seats away one game and paramedics had to rush him to the hospital... I didn't even see it happening as i was reaching down to grab my soda.. Point? At that level you need to be careful with the kids and make sure they wear hockey helmets and train them how to avoid the puck prior to game time http://oprano.com/msgboard/images/smilies/smile.gif

BTW, First row of the upper bowl in any of those sections gives you an excellent view as well... Then again I was sitting in a stadium with sellout crowds of about 13K so our lower bowl ws probably quite a bit smaller than your's...

I assume you have the youngsters in Hockey Camps already? http://oprano.com/msgboard/images/smilies/smile.gif

Which reminds me.. Denise Pemberton, lol ... My high school hockey team had a chick on it... Man were we shit poor !

A sport where the *audience* had to wear protective helmets?

Having managed to be smacked with the ball at every baseball game I've ever attended...I'm leaving hockey as a "watch on television" sport.
