Missed the 1st episode of survivor!

I have the new Terry Brooks book and stayed up really late reading the night before!! So when I went to watch tv about a half hour before Surbvivor started I fell asleep and, wouldn't you know it, I woke up precisely at 8:00 pm only to see Bob Shieffer's mug for a few seconds and then Bush's speech!! :mad:

Just read a recap at http://www.zap2it.com and all I gotta say is WOO HOO Stephanie and Bobby Jon are back!! Enjoyed the hell out of watching them last season. Just wish I could have stayed awake to watch it. :hmm:

Stephanie is an intelligent, gorgeous, athletic woman. What more could you ask for? :okthumb: Kudos on bringing her back, just unfortunate that she'll have a big ol' target on her back.

Bobby Jon is a musclehead numbskull who can't even win a balut egg eating contest (good job, dumbass, shove three of them into your mouth at once -- happen to notice you have NO water to help wash them down?). He rode on Stephanie's back the whole way last time... why bring HIM back?

Anyone notice Gary, the "landscaper"? Yeah, that's Gary Hogeboom, former NFL quarterback. Can't wait to see when someone finally figures that out on the show. Only so long that you can keep 12 years of your personal history hidden when you're around a small group of people 24/7.

There's some cute girls on this run, but they immediately came off as not very smart. Did you notice the one who wore the cute little powder blue sweat pants rolled down at the top? Yep, that's practical clothing to take with you onto Survivor.

And Danni, the sport radio talk show host/model/Miss USA runner-up, she is really hot and in great shape... but no body fat whatsoever. She'll look absolutely disgustingly thin by the second week.

Why don't these people ever learn? You have the meathead dudes who are all ripped and cut... they're falling down with cramps the first day. You have the hottie girls who are nice and thin... and end up looking anorexic by day 12.

PUT ON SOME FREAKIN' BODY FAT BEFORE YOU GO, PEOPLE. If I were picked, sure, I'd work out like crazy to get ready. But I'd be more concerned about adding strength than getting cut. And I'd sure as hell bulk up, so I'd have extra weight to lose as time goes by.

It's like these people never paid attention to what happened on previous seasons. That's why they LOSE.

So far as I know (and I'm no fitness/nutrition expert), the body fat issue will have more of a longterm effect. With the first day's challenge, add that the men were carrying more weight to the simple fact that they needed to take in more calories and more water than the smaller women, and you end up with the guys going into shock due to multiple deprivations. That challenge was dangerous as hell, frankly.
