View Full Version : My wife and I are opening our home to anyone who needs it from the hurricane

I don't know who to tell about this, so I thought I would just post it here.

if anyone reading this know ANY families or friends that have no where to go due to the hurricane taking their home, we would be happy to have someone come stay with us here in atlanta for an undetermined amount of time

I have said all this before without any response, so I am going to keep pushing

We have a huge house, with full wireless internet, plenty of extra rooms...we even have an entire second side of our house that we don't even use...big enough for a few people...so it technically could be a pretty comfortable living environment for quite a while

We will help you find a job (or you can work for me if needed) and basically get setup in Atlanta in any ways needed

anyway, just thought i would throw it out there again....maybe someone will bite, i know a lot of people need the help!

i want to post this everywhere I can, but in all honesty, i would rather have someone that can be vouched for, because as we have seen, this disaster can really bring out the bad in a lot of people...and that scares me

We are going to contact moveon.org also, they have emailed us asking if we had room...but the working in adult thing too could be offensive to someone just coming into a home...we tend to lead a sort of different lifestyle than most...LOL

the thing that worries me about that is, how do I know these people aren't just crazy fuckers that want to come in and take everything, and never were really even affected by the hurricane?

posting on industry forums and asking moveon.org is a better way i think

and craigslist just redirects you to hurricanehousing

one thing you gotta love moveon.org about, is their reach...wow, it is amazing how big and powerful that one little site has become

Hell yes, it's great to see isn't it? I did some canvasing with them in the last election. They put together one hell of a group, and it was quite inspiring to see everything coming together in such an way.

I could have sworn we'd sway the election, but we didn't really have much of an effect according to the polls.
