AVN Partners With Parents In Adult
CHATSWORTH, Calif. – AVN has announced its partnership with Parents In Adult, a developing organization to support parents who work in the adult industry.
AVN will provide exposure for Parents in Adult in its magazines and websites, and work in concert with the organization to further its non-profit efforts.
“It’s fantastic to have a company like AVN behind a project like this. It’s apparent that AVN has been interested in, and rightly so, bridging the gap between the Internet and video side of the industry. This particular issue bridges that gap. Those who know us or have read the Parent or Pariah article understand that this is an important issue to us and an altruistic cause. It was put together simply to support the parents who work in this industry,” said Chris Potoski, founder of Parents In Adult.
“Parents in Adult addresses a need in this industry that has been overlooked for too long, so we’ve been interested in helping them any way we can since their cause first came to our attention,” said Tony Lovett, editor and publisher of AVN Online, a concerned parent himself. “We not only want to aid in the fight against persecution and prejudice towards families whose livelihoods depend on the adult industry, but also provide a support network to inform, educate and improve the parenting skills of those same people.”
Parents In Adult will launch their website in late October. The site will contain articles and resources focused on everything from general parenting guidelines to child development, along with related news and a message board.
In addition, the organization’s founders are developing legal contacts and resources, including a legal defense fund for parents working in the adult industry. They are also seeking child development psychologists to contribute.
