I got involved in an icq convo with a friend and revealed this tip , its really obvious to many , not to others.

How do I reduce CBs on my account?

Easy make sure your descriptor is innocent looking.

Do not use a descriptor like "Cum guzzling whores"
Make it "NCP Inc"

A vanilla , non-descript descriptor will not raise as many flags to either the customer nor the customers snooping wife.

Snopping wife sees family creditcard with a charge from "Amateur Boys" , ummm its gonna be charged back..

:)

I know its bloody obvious....

Another tip - do not write the exact cc description on your porn pages, but keep it on your "mainstream" support pages (very important to have those).

Women will still go to google and write "NCP Inc" to see what their men are up to... instead write "NCP - Inc" or something similiar on the porn pages. You still get the branding of your cc description, but also protection from women running amok and calling their CC company (hello mastercard, my husband did not signup to "cum swallowing husbands").

another good tip which it seems most paysites lack is delivering on their promises. If it says daily updates on the tour then it's probably a good idea to update every freakin day, but of course this is just my opinion, i do not claim to be an expert :)

Makes about 5% retention difference.

Most buys are an "impulse"

if you have good content a few may keep coming back. Most won't

The hard fact of this business is that the vast majority of recurs happen because the person forgets to cancel.

And that is coming from someone who has had paysites with excess of 500 new members joining everyday.

Better version of this tip... If you're going to put your descriptor on your porn pages (which IS a good idea), don't put it as text. Create a .gif with the text in it. That way, you could put your exact descriptor information, and it won't be Google-able.

"Google-able" :okthumb:

Tip o' the hat to ThrobX for that one. It's fun to say out loud. Try it. :)

(Don't try it three times fast, though. You'll hurt yourself.)

I check logs....

Check which usernames enter yr sites.

Bet 80% of yr recurs never revisit.

The only time they do is if you really spoil them with lots of content and update it. Then overall it will improve yr retention by 5% a mth. ( a not unsubstantial sum) however...

The cheapest factor of production in the business is content.

I tend to buy huge amounts for a centralised members area that in turn can be made niche specific with all the other content as a bonus.

I tend to use "exclusive" "rare" and expensive content only on frontends.

:)

But hey thats just me ................

there are lots of things you can do to improve your CB ratio... from the most obvious to the more thoughtful areas... I tend to like the thoughtful areas (already covered in the most obvious areas ;-)

An area we have been working on is individual CB profiling... the more sources you have to add to the profiling the better results you will get. But you will get in a dilemma (income vs. CBs) if you choose this route.

Ironically having shitty content or not delivering as promised actually results in higher retention in some cases. Customer logs in once, says "fuck this" and leaves.

Great advice :okthumb: but don't forget to always have lots and lots of descriptors ready to be switched in as needed too......
