View Full Version : Last of the Puppy Pics
Well, the pups are now 8 weeks old and ready to go....yesterday they went to the vet for the shots and health check. All are doing really well.
Weights ranged from 16lbs (our smallest baby girl) to 23lbs (our big buddha boy...hehe)

they are soooooooo cute! you're not even keeping one?????
we have a 5 year old 1/2 shepherd 1/2 english mastiff female. these pics look sooo much like her baby pics ; )
The people we got her from bred both shepherds and Mastiffs. Needless to say there was an accident one day......

They are WAY too cute - I'd end up keeping every one of them, lol!
Of COURSE we're keeping one! How could I NOT! :P
Here's our boy Ozzy in the red collar:

And yes, peaches...I keep saying I would keep them all if I could...hehe...the first was taken to his new home yesterday...I miss him already :(
The vet said to me that the litter was 'very impressive' and that I should be proud of myself. I spent so much time worrying about them...their food, their water, exercise and just general care that it was really nice to know that the vet saw and acknowledged my hard work. It felt good. :)

gorgeous!! and expensive lol
Any kind of puppy is hard to resist....even the 'hardest' folks melt at the sight of a cute puppy...but, they can be a b*tch too! I have a nicely carved out hole in my wall right now to prove that. ;)
Google Man....these pups will not be registered....Dad was registered with champion lines, mom is not registered despite her champion lines....so no papers for the pups. They are strictly 'pet stock'....healthy as horses, but only for pets...therefore they are not being sold at enormously overblown prices...lol...4 of them are spoken for right now and the other 6 are in the paper for $800 canadian at this point.
Thing is, not many people are interested in 'giant' breeds....so we may end up with a few for a while yet....and that's okay by me. :)
I have a 'puppy contract' for each and every potential buyer to sign including many stipulations if they want to purchase one of my pups....including NO GUARD TRAINING, no stairs or long walks until they are at least 1 year old (they're heavy dogs and can easily damage their joints) and NEVER selling/giving away, nor taking to a shelter if they ever want to get rid of the pup....ALL pups will come back to me if the new owners can't keep them...whether they are 5 months old or 5 years old. My door will always be open to these, and any other pups I will have...I brought them into this world and they are MY responsibility.....bad breeders seem to forget this aspect of breeding.
Okay, getting off the soapbox...haha

OK, I'll get on MY soapbox and also suggest that since they aren't registered, you also have them agree to neuter/spay the pups :)
gawd...only 66 more posts and I'll be rid of the 'persian kitty knows me' subtitle....woot! :) (at least I sure HOPE so! haha)
oh yes yes yes! absolutely...the contract also includes a no breed clause, among other things. ;)
edited to add: Zoe is being spayed next month....this is her first and only litter. :)
