it is the same site though, and also it is the prevelant mood, not to mention that 70% of Nola is black, and of course they were the ones most left behind , since they had less resources to leave with in most cases ( the poor) so what is to be expected of them ? not eat? swim with a snake and a gator to go find a shelter to get food?

I mean it is a tradegdy for all so they need to treat it as such, hell I saw one black family had to walk al the way to the astrodome cause no one would pick em up hitchhiking.

its the same site though? ok... sorry. that means nothing. they use news wire services for all of their news and publish it as they recieve it... they dont edit the content of newswire reports.

so either it is racist or it is two different stories from two different incidents who chose different language to describe it. are you suggesting that no one published anything about white people "looting"?

Funny thing is, both of you are right.

JR is right in saying that you cannot automatically conclude racism by comparing the apples and oranges situation of two different news wires.

YET - at the same time ...

Joe is right in saying that there is plenty of evidence in attitudes toward race in America just in the way those two headlines were written.
