View Full Version : Does anyone have any services or anything they would donate to a hurricane benefit?

We are doing another benefit, last one was for the tsunami, this one will be for hurricane relief...here in Atlanta, date TBA...but sooner than later

Does anyone around want to donate anything?

I have a generator if someone can come and get it.

Edit - let me make sure my brother doesn't want it first....he's been eye balling it for a couple of years ;)

Edit again - but I can bring diapers, baby food, food that doesn't need to be cooked, batteries, etc.

HOWEVER make sure whomever your donating this to actually wants the items. For many it's more expensive to ship things there than it is for them to just get the cash and buy it closer to NOLA.

let me make it more clear.

the way we do our benefits is basically entrance fee, and part of the bar, gets donated to redcross...last one we did for the tsunami got over $2000 donated

We are working on setting up something for clothing and other physical donations...but right now we are just working with donating proceeds collected

what I need from people though...is things like flyers printed and designed, hosting for possible streaming cams of the event....etc...basically, if you have a service that can help keep the cost of the event down to a minimum, we need ya!

I’m not sure if it’s me being over sceptical or less cuntish side of me coming out here – Why not give all the money people were expecting to spend and stay in?

lots of reasons...

1. this is a community support effort. instead of sitting inside you can get out and make a difference by coming to show public support

2. lots of people have no means to stay in and give money...no credit cards, no internet access, etc.

3. there are lots of live act's and dj's that want to do something and show public support

why did they do a live aid? why did they do farm aid? all those people could have just stayed in their houses and listened to a cd...right?

I wasn't bashing at all, now that you've laid it out I think it's a first class idea. I hope it brings much to the people in need :okthumb:


One question though - WTF is farm aid? I must have been busy to miss that :huh:

oh, i know you weren't bashing

the main thing about it is...there are lots of people that will never donate a thing in their life, but would be willing to go out and spend $200 a night clubbing

so why not combine the two together?

We would like to donate living quarters, space, computer access and our studio to anyone from New Orleans who needs to re-group and re-organize their adult web business. Children can't be taken in (due to the nature of our biz and home) but any others are welcome. We have space for three adults as well as a completely equipped studio, camera's, etc. This is at no cost of course but just as a helping hand and leg up!
