Ok, from the looks and discussion, I think what we are doing here is building a TGP.

The immediate build is a page (or pages) fed from Remothe thumbs with the idea being that we are later wanting to to do trades and possibly accept webmaster gallery/site submissions.

So, that being the case, step one would appear to be going over to Remote Thumbs (http://www.remotethumbs.com) opening up an account, setting up our sponsor codes and putting together a template or two.

some good addresses to know during this step are:

http://www.smutforum.com/ The support forums for remotethumbs
http://www.remotethumbs.com/manual/ The remotethumbs user guide

Once you have an account on remotethumbs you want to log in to the site, go to the menu item called "My Sponsors". This will take you to a page that will allow you to enter your affiliate codes for any sponsors that remotethumbs has galleries for. If you don't have enough sponsors, then right there on the "My Sponsors" page you can go to the various sponsor sites and sign up for an affiliate account.

I would suggest having at least 10 sponsors in order to get enough new galleries each day. The more sponsors that you have codes for, the more galleries that you can pull in each day.

Once you have your sponsors set up, you can go through the user manual step by step and set yourself up or you can wait till tommorrow when I will do "Prepping the server and setting up templates"

Ok, cool project. My first question is. What of the 2257 implications? How is that handled?

What's 2257 ?

j/k :yowsa:

My way of handling 2257 is quite easy, don't show ANY images and you don't have to worry about 2257 :okthumb:

I plan to show everyone how to make a thumbs version, but I will also be showing how to do a "text link" version.

Which one someone wants to go with is up to them and their lawyer

Ahhh so remote thumbs DID get a set-up that allows using a text link version then eh?

I think they did but I'm not 100% sure - I'll be using the standard thumbs version and might mix in some text links if they're on offer.

Well...I *think* I just made a template.

I have absolutely NO idea what to do with it, however.

Supposedly, you can do it through a custom template, however I have not done one through that method yet. Although, I plan to know how by the time that is an issue :)

I have done my own "generic text links" by parsing through the pages remotethumbs produces, using a php script.

My sugar dumpling, did you think I wasn't going to click over to Remote Thumbs when it was first mentioned, check it out, find out "sign up with sponsors" was the first step...and do that? Today all I had to do was take a shot at making a template. :)

When I click on "preview," I see what I imagine I should see...so far, anyway.

Fucker.. sometimes it pays not to live in the states. Love my country to death and would never move (unless some lovely foreign lass totally made me want to) but stuff like this annoys the shit out of me at times.

Fuck.. I gotta go in and start signing up with sponsors. I hate doing that shit but I want to have a shitload of them. I have two perfect domains for this project.

Fantastic - we're starting ! I'm so excited !!! :)

I'm adding my sponsor codes now :) For each one I've used the tours without popups (as they drive me nuts, and when we're testing things out later on I don't want to be bombarded by the bloody things) is this okay ?

That kind of choice is entirely up to you :)

Anyone else sign up with Sunny Dollars ? I may be a complete tard but I seem to be having a lot of difficulty persuading their site to cough up my linking codes ! :(

dom...I had a problem with a sponsor (forget which one) and they suggested I switch to Firefox. Now, I'm willing to go a long way to be a good little affiliate, but I wasn't about to stop everything and download a new browser...especially one that eats my css that I so laboriously swiped from my daughter. :) If you have Firefox, you might try it. If not...it's a big list...keep on keepin' on. :okthumb:

Cheers for the advice Morgan :)

Basically the page I was trying to get working had some options that you had to tick, at which point usually - ta dah ! The link code would appear. But it didn't. Oh well ! I got me my ten sponsors, so I'm going to wait for the next exciting installment now ;) I've read through the instructions for remote thumbs previously and got myself a tad confused, so I'll hold on for the time being and have a bash at it tomorrow night instead :)
