I started rolling my own. Fuck it, I figure, if i'm gonna give myself cancer I ain't gonna pay Phillip Morris to package it for me. So far the math says it's gonna save me about $2k per year. :) Why'd it take me so long to figure that math out? Zig Zag brand menthol. 8 bucks a can and it rolls about a carton or so. ;))

They are filtered. :) You can buy either filters that you roll right in the paper, or you can buy tubes which look more like what come in a packaged box but you fill them with a special tube filling machine.

I just roll the filters right into the cig with the tobacco. Little zig zag rolling machine makes it easy and roll the same size every time.

Good thing I work on the computer and don't need to walk across the room tho... :)

Unfortunately, it IS cheaper than it is here. I'm in the south too and we're paying close to or more than $40 per, depending on where you go for premiums. New York last time I was there was up to around $75 per carton or so.

I quit for 5 weeks and was having a rough few days a week ago, have been smoking agin for 6 days now... Arguing with the first cigarette of the mornign decision today and lit up a few minutes ago..

I am going to quit again (yeahhh right huh?) after Friday... The stressors that caused me to light up are gone.. Well for the moment anyways. Was better than grabbing some beer or any of the other stupid ass things I could have done - In fact at a meeting not long ago someone told me better to give up smoking and have that to fall back on relapsing than any of the other shit us idiots could do :)

This is the best I've achieved so far:

No smoking in the house except one room.
Gone from 80 cigs a day (those that know me know that is true) to 30.

May not sound a lot but it is something.My kids told me that there clothes used to stink of cigarettes, now they don't.
