Ah, geeze. :(
She's supposed to be brutal. Somebody (apologies to the "somebody," my brain is mush) posted that she has the potential of being the third worst hurricane of all time.
Now, New Orleans is supposed to be under mandatory evacuation. (I can't even imagine the mess that's causing.) WT, are you and Osiris out of there?
Please.

We're on the Northshore in Hammond, and, no... We're not out of here. We're staying at home.
If/when it gets real bad, we have a bathroom in the center of the house that has absolutely no windows... So, we'll be in there.
And, if flooding becomes a problem... We have an attic that we can go up into.
We couldn't get out even if we wanted to right now though because my car is in the shop because the heat made the A/C compressor go out on me, so I don't have it right now.
We'll just have to make the best of it...
Now I'm kinda glad we didn't move back into the city just yet... We had been talking about that for a long time.
I have a lot of family that does live in the city though, thankfully, I got word that at least most of them are already out of there.

Honey, it's a cat. 5!!! It's got 175 miles per hour wind right now, with gusts up to 190... And they say they don't see anything that could slow it down...
We're all just crossing our fingers right now... Though, at this point, I'm not sure how much good that's going to do...

Morgan, we're about 40 miles NW of the city. We're already seeing the trees sway back and forth and it's still 200+ miles in the Gulf. When it hits land we'll see winds of about 90mph where we are!!

Keep in mind though, we were told 90mph here where we are before it was up-graded to a cat. 5....

Thanks Hon, but I don't think that's going to happen.
It just started to rain not too long ago... We've got a little wind and thunder right now, but that's all so far. The beginning of what I'm sure is going to be a very long night.

*Hugs* Thank you for the concern Honey. We'll just have to hope for the best at this point... Anybody that hasn't left yet, isn't going to be. (I'm sure you know all of the details and have been watching the same news as me.) I haven't talked to Renee in a while, so I don't know what she's doing or if she got out of here, but it's entirely possible, a lot of people are gone.
I'm going to try to keep you guys up-dated on what's going on over here(as long as I have power anyway...)

Thanks guys *smiles*
Well, they just said that the eye of the storm is probably going to hit where I am... So, that makes things a bit worse for me... We're still watching to see how far tot he west it's going to go though.
I don't know how long I will have power once the storm really starts hitting, but they have been saying that when the power goes out, it could be out for a week... :(

WT, I am thinking about yall strongly as Katrina is moving on shore! I am a little disappointed there isn't an update here from you at this time (aprox 6:30 Mon. morning), but know things must be starting to get wild there.
My thoughts are strongly with you, sending all the postive I can muster your way!
Keep your head low and safe, Good Luck!
I've been thinking about you guys all morning. I'm praying that you, Osiris and the girls make it through this ok. You've got lots of good thoughts being sent your way.
