View Full Version : My Poker Tournament Success

As many of you know I am mostly a sit and go player but recently Ive been playing the big multi table tourneys. I posted last week that I made it to 56th place of the million tourney on Party Poker winning $3400. The guy who won, "tacoroy", took home $266k!
On Saturday I made it to the final table of the $200k tourney that had 1300 people and got knocked out in 8th place winning $5200! It took about 7 hours to get to 8th place. The SICK thing is that tacoroy won the damn thing again taking home another $55k. I am now obsessed with winning one of these things :)
Anyway, I was really happy with the money but more psyched that I acutally placed in two major tournaments. The porn biz has been so boring for the past few years and it feels really good to find something fun again.
For those of you that play poker you will understand how excited I am. For those of you who dont, just imagine playing adult league soccer and somehow making it to the World Cup. :)
$5200 is good money for 7 hours work, nicely done.
I’m lost when it comes to playing poker but I’m always watching Late Night Poker on men and motors, it has me fascinated.

Congratulations. That is indeed a great achievement (? damn my lack of spelling ability) I've tried a few times in big tourneys but never placed.. I tend to do better in the smaller (up to 10 table) tournaments

Very cool Miss Eve. Congrats. I just haven't been able to enjoy online poker. It bores me to tears. I've only put a small amount in an online account and I just got bored with the games really quickly. I much prefer sitting at a table and reading people. I can have the patience of a saint at an offline table but get bored to tears at an online one and my game suffers for it. I should try it again and see if I can't master my patience.

I have the opposite problem TE. I get bored quickly not playing at a real game when online I can go and play ultra tight forever

Thanks guys! :) I actually get really bored with live games now, it seems like it takes forever just to shuffle and deal, there is always some idiot who forgets he is the blind etc. I play on my wireless laptop and end up cooking dinner while playing etc.

How anyone can get bored at a live game is beyond me. There are a shitload of things you should be doing on every hand even if you aren't in the hand.

I've often considered entering one of those bigger multi-table tournaments, but hell I just don't have the time to sit there and play for several hours. Maybe in the winter I'll try it.

On Ladbrokes there is one player "actionjack" who wins fucking everything. Drives me crazy.
He has beat me with ..
I have A/A..slow playing flop comes Ace/10hearts/8.....he bets..I come over the top.
He hits cards to make a flush.
Its fucking unbelievable...
LOL I am frankly a lousy money game player and a decent tourny player.
Having won about 12 minor ones now. No placing in the real biggies like you have.
I also tend to be a much better stud and limit tourny player.
I am really tempted to ante up the money and play in the stud tourny's at the WSOP.
Any tourny's on PP today you fancy playing?
