i had a laptop problem today and ended up having to format....

my outlook got completely wiped out, all inbox emails gone, all archived messages wiped clean

basically, my outlook is the central point of my working environment...and it is completely gone, i am still recovering and haven't even been able to reinstall it again...and every single password for every server and email accoutn I have was in there too...plus all images, text and descriptions for my entire dildo company...and TONS of other shit

so, what it boils down to, is email me if we have unfinished or ongoing business, that way I can start building shit back up again

AAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!

oh well, life goes on...it will be in order again...my server tech is going to hate me, having to reset every single password on every server I have

i just got handy little data recovery application....it is scanning for lost partitions now...and my mother in law swears by this program, and she guarantees me that I will be able to salvage those two outlook files that I need

it has another hour to run though, so wish me luck!

GL, Been there done that a few times over the years...

And the 'Windows Recovery System'

don't count on that piece o' shit working.. It takes your computer back to the time it says but any damage that has been done to your hard drive remains.. For example crucial settings to your browser when you lose all your bookmarks (who hasn't been there?) aren't renewed to the way they were at your last restore point if you restore after the damage has been done..

Damn, this is early .. Earliest I have been up in a long ass time.. Helping a friend lay linoleum whenever he has extra work for $15 an hour and he wants me to help out today and an 6-7 hour job.. How you all get up this time oif the day every day is beyond me.. I even got a good nights sleep

i am still skimming through all the files that this data recovery tool is finding...hundreds of thousands of files

What data recovery software are you using?

As I've got a hard drive I'd like to scan for some old files.

right now I am trying GetDataBack, seems to be working aliong nicely, 700,000 directories and 50,000 files found...

the one I had a little luck with earlier was Handy Recovery, it found shit I deleted like a year ago! haha

Something like that.. I would be inclined to find a company that specializes in data restoration.. Not cheap and it would take a while but if it is going to be foudn that woudl be the way.

You can always call the FBI on yourself and tell them you have illegal material in your e-mail file - They ahve great computer forensic experts as well and it would be free :)
