View Full Version : Atlanta Meetings - what would you all think about this?
Those of you from Atlanta...what do you think about having a set day, once a month, at the exact same place every time, to meet up, do business and shoot the shit?
some place central for all atlanta people, and some place that isn't a popular bar (too crowded), but a place that we could all get drinks, order food, and get some work done?
maybe we could do the first Saturday of every month or something like that?
i do not want to be the organizer, i think we can all just organize it together and see what happens...

As GonZo mentioned, thru the years, there's sporadically been either formal or informal gatherings like that. Not just in web times but dating all the way back to BBS times. I can remember various times where it was at Run Around Sues, the Beef Cellar, Sonny's, Steak 'n Shake, etc.
These were all different groups at different times in history, but all were fun and to some degree or another useful.
The pain is getting everyone to agree on a location. Once you pick it out, adopt a waitress, tip the shit out of her everytime and they're happy to see you when you come in the next time and usually put you in your own corner and take good care of you.

Actually John Morgan has told me in the past he knows several bars that would welcome us. Ill see what I can arrange with him as we "tip a few" next week.

yeah, when we were in LA we were in he video side of things, and there were 3-4 informal meetings every month...it was great though from a talent side of things, meeting producers and directors (same thing in the porn world? hehe), and getting jobs and meeting new friends...but they came and went...but i think there are so many REAL professionals here in atlanta with so much to bring to the table, and i can honestly say that I am not doing constant business with anyone in atlanta and I need to be..cause we are all local and it makes it so much easier!

steak and shake sounds great to me!!! do they have tables we can pull together and shit?
i will give this thread time to play out though, at least a week or so of everyone from atlanta on here posting and giving some opinons

With all the Vegas people hitting me up asking when the next gathering was, it was time to set another one up, so here we go!
Where: Gardunos, inside of the Palms Casino
When: 7pm-10pm or whenever people want to leave
Why: It's been long overdue, great way to network with fellow Vegas folk :)
