Porn star gets animated for Scots firm mobile phone deal
A SCOTTISH computer animation firm has created an animated image of porn star Ron Jeremy for a new 3 UK mobile "dear Ron" advice service.
DA Group, the Glasgow company that sold the rights to Ananova, the world's first virtual newsreader, has agreed terms with mobile content developer MJ Mobile to promote the service from the end of this week.
DA has created a digital caricature version of the celebrity, who has appeared in more than 1600 adult films.
Jeremy's recent appearance on Five's The Farm has increased his fan base in the UK, where he is also a regular on the comedy circuit as well as lecturing on sex at universities.
DA chief executive Mike Antliff said: "Ron Jeremy is not just a pretty face. He knows that the hot medium for celebrities is mobile and creating a Ron character that can be animated and sent over the mobile networks is a smart move for a brand that has such a big fan base."
DA is also developing Ron Jeremy-branded versions of its Fantasy Babe solutions including java messaging applications, downloadable animations and videos and other java games. All these solutions will be available at the beginning of August and will be branded "Ron's Babes".
