Farrell granted restraining order

Farrell's films include Alexander and Minority Report
Actor Colin Farrell has been granted a restraining order against a former girlfriend who allegedly tried to distribute a tape of them having sex.
A US judge has temporarily forbidden Nicole Narain from selling, showing or distributing the 15-minute video.

The Irishman, 29, is suing Ms Narain for damages, claiming she contacted the media about the tape and worked with an internet pornography business.

The next court hearing is due to take place in Los Angeles on 10 August.

Reputation

Mr Farrell claims the video, which was made two and a half years ago, was jointly owned with topless model Ms Narain, 31, and that they had a verbal agreement that it should remain private.

The actor's case also stated that the release of the tape would greatly harm his reputation and career.

He is seeking an injunction forbidding the sale and distribution of the tape.

It added that the defendants' "outrageous attempt to capitalise on the celebrity of Colin Farrell... exceeds all bounds of common human decency".

The legal action, filed at Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, also names Paul Nash of Internet Commerce Group - an online pornography company - as a defendant in the case.

Mr Farrell will next be seen in period drama The New World and the film version of TV show Miami Vice.

Yeah.. other than the money making possibilities that tape wouldn't interest me a bit.

while I have no interest in seeing this tape, they are doing a splendid job of marketing it yet far...remember with the paris tape, how the months leading up to it were legal battles and controversy...that is what we are seeing now, and I would not be suprised if the tape didn't hold out for another 2 weeks or so, then all the sudden start showing up online

funny though, as much money as colin is making now, i don't see him signing off on it as easily as paris did for hers..he might take a little coaxing for that model release to be legit...unlike paris, who probably made the tape purposely for the right to sell it

Yep, agreed, no interest at all. Here's a bright idea. If you're a celebrity don't tape yourself doing the deed. Nuff Said.

Unless you want it released, so you can get the media attention... just like Paris did :-)

I'm curious as to how a man who is "bleeped" every third word on the "Tonight Show" and is known for bedding anyone willing could possibly convince a judge his "reputation" would be damaged by a film of him performing the very act he commits with such publicly admitted frequency?

Unless it shows he's lousy in bed, of course.
