Ok, so I get this in my email tonight. First thing I notice is that it says that today is June 24th... Uh, only a couple of weeks late there guys... Today happens to be July 6.. but that's ok, whats a couple of weeks between friends :)

Naughty America-Updated 2257 Information!

Dear Naughty America Affiliates,

Today is June 24th 2005, the new changes to the 2257 laws are now in effect.

We are currently making finalizations in our compliancy of the new law. Naughty America will be complying to the letter of the law and in turn we ask that you do the same. Details are below on recent changes and how to become a gold affiliate.

Determining Affiliate Status:

In our efforts to provide the best affiliate program and best support for our affiliates we have arrived at a universal compliant solution for 2257.

NaughtyAmerica will have two types of affiliates.

The first is the Gold Affiliate level. These affiliates will be provided with necessary tools to continue promoting our sites using explicit content. We will have further details furnished via phone or email by an account representative. Gold affiliates were selected based on our understanding of their level of commitment and previous working relationship with the company. If you have not been contacted and wish to be considered for the Gold Affiliate program, please contact Danielle with the information below:

All other affiliates will be considered “Standard Affiliates” and will have access to softcore banners and free hosted galleries but will be restricted from promoting our sites with explicit content.

IMMEDIATE NOTICE:

You are hereby noticed that due to the stringent requirements of the new regulations going into effect on June 23rd, anyone who is not a “Gold Affiliate” and is promoting our sites that contain our explicit content will have their account closed.

But, I think the message would be clearer if you didn't just cut and paste your "latest news" section of your site into an email.

My appologies for the late email, but our mailing system decided to take a crap last week when we thought it actually sent it out.

As far as the new affiliate system goes.....

We have started our gold affiliate system as a way to give our serious webmasters an edge at promoting Naughty America, but at the same time we are not turning anyone away. You can still promote us and gain the benefits of our stellar company but through softcore promotions.

Only Gold affiliates will have access to our hardcore content and anyone that has not been approved for gold will have to will not, and if they are caught promoting us with hardcore when they have not been approved for gold we will shut off their traffic.

We announced this 2 weeks ago, the email you just received was a reiteration of the previous email.

ALso, THANK YOU Gonzo for backing us up.

hey i don't doubt it i am just saying you should look in to a better mailing solution sometimes less is better.

a simple read from dbase emails and names and just sending is better than kick ass i do everything but send emails.

First of all, it wasn't a question, it was an observation. The email you sent was a cut and paste of the "news section" of the site. Whether it was sent way back when and got stuck or it was sent yesterday and got stuck, the way it was structured it does not make sense.

As to what you state in your message in this thread,

That is the way I ended up reading the thing.

However, I just went to check out the situation and now I cannot log into my account because from yesterday when I posted to today it somehow switched from a working account to one that has not yet "been approved".

So, again NaughtyAmerica (that one is to fire off the boardtracker lolol) WTF ? over...

I am not promoting with hardcore. I am promoting with strictly text links or links that once had banners and now just have placeholders.

So why did I go from active to not approved ?

Could it be because i dared make a little fun of the email you sent out ? Did I somehow bruise somone's feelings ?

If I want to use them I will email them like a good little affiliate ought to.... (can we say baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa)

They are a good program, I love their sites, but like most of my sponosrs I don't move enough traffic to them for them to even take notice of me. So, if I drop their links it's no loss to them or me.

And if they can't take a little ribbing over someone slamming out an mailing without taking the time to proof what they are sending then that says a lot about them in my mind...
