View Full Version : Happy Birthday George
I would like to thank all you Canadians for your warm welcome at the airport. Especially those of you who waved (Pause) with all 5 fingers.
59 and I bet he will get the last laugh ;-)))
:salute: :salute: :salute:
Didnt he use that gag last year?
You'd think his repatoire would contain more than one, semi funny, gag.

It's amazing he was able to come up with a single one.

Yes, this was from the last visit to Canada - however I think there is more truth in that quote than most of the other "one liners" people keep posting... :-)

Also born on July 6, 1946 - Fred Dryer (Hunter) and Sylvester Stallone.
A bumper crop of bad actors indeed.

Ahhhh ... but in all likelyhood, that line was written for him.
Quotes that have the feel of spontenaity include:
"This case has had full analyzation and has been looked at a lot."
"Now, there are some who would like to rewrite history - revisionist historians is what I like to call them."
"Most imports are from outside of the country"
"One of the common denominators I have found is that expectations rise above that which is expected."
"You teach a child to read, and he or her will be able to pass a literacy test."
"Natural gas is hemispheric. I like to call it hemispheric in nature because it is a product that we can find in our neighborhoods."
"I glance at the headlines just to kind of get a flavor for what's moving. I rarely read the stories, and get briefed by people who are probably read the news themselves."
"In my sentences I go where no man has gone before."

And the point is????
Presidents are leaders - they have people working for them. Bush has plenty of excellent speechwriters, but so have every other "aspiring" politician or political leader. So ofcourse the rhetoric and even humor have been prewritten.... this is how politics is today - its not a "Bush thing".
