So... which was your favorite doctor? Though he seems to have gotten a bad rap I always enjoyed Colin Baker the best as the Doctor myself...

I fell I should point out I also enjoyed Tom Baker equally as much.

The original Dr Who was way before my time and watching them now just makes me realise that the UK doesn’t spend enough money when it comes to special effects :(

The Hitchhikers guide was cool because the shoddy effects added to the humour of the show :D

Tom Baker was the one I "grew up with" & is the one who usually gets impersonated as "The Doctooooorr"

Day of the triffids was a great U.K sci fi series.

Tom Baker: Number one!! Jon Pertwee would be my second.

Peter Davidson was the worst (the yuppie Doctor). Colin (sorry, TE) was the second most boring to me. All he had right was the brillo pad hair!

The last Doctor (in the last millennium) Sylvester McCoy was actually quite refreshing. I'd probably put him in at number three.

No idea about the recent (21st century) Doctors, as those haven't gotten across the pond yet.

Btw, on the new ones, do the special effects still suck royally? :)

Yeah, but it's like old Star Trek that way. :)

That's probably ... er good (I guess) actually.

On the one hand I'd love to see Dr. Who have REAL special effects. On the other hand, it wouldn't be quite the same, now would it? I was almost hoping they'd find some sort of bizarre middle ground. Sounds like they have.

Dr Who doesn't even compare to Trek, they are a million miles apart. :)

Although it has piss poor effects it's still worth watching, if only to see Billie Piper :yowsa:

Effects, schmeffects :-)))

IMO, this last series really benefitted from good acting from Christopher Ecclestone and some nifty storylines and scripting. Ecclestone's a complete nutter as Dr Who :-)

Not a Brit, but my favorite is still Jon Pertwee, probably because he's the first one I saw. They started showing Who on Chicago PBS VERY early on.
