It might have something to do with the price of land...

Or it could be the fact he's always got a Frenchie he can swipe out at :yowsa:

They seek him here, they seek him there.
Those Frenchmen seek him everywhere.

Ahahahahahaha its just my luck....

I am at one of the 5 star hotels here.

Nice suite , all good etc etc

So my daughter phones room service to practice her french (she has been brilliant so far btw)

She lists our order and she then tells me the guy was leery as hell and said things like "Wait! You haven't answered MY question"

She is giggling afterwards as she is like "He was rude"

So I am a bit like ...."hmmmmmmm"

Well last night my wife phones down and asks for Chateaubriand...the answer was..
"That comes with Rice"
"Rice?"
"Qui ,Rice"
"Thats unusual"
"Well thats what it comes with""
"No other choices?"
"Nope"

What!?!?!?

We are debating if its just the general leeryness of French Canadians or what

So then my wife phones and asks for a high chair...
"Hello could we possibily have a high chair?"
"Nope , we don't have any"
"Thats strange"
"Well there is some in the restaurant but I'm not getting one"

So thats it , I lose it LOL

I'm onto the Hotel Manager..

"Hello is this some sort of joke?" I then explain what has happened so far.

The manager then explains it is like a joke but in bad taste. She explains they have a labour dispute ongoing , most of there staff are fine but some are trying to sabotage the hotel. She says the Prez of the CNS Trade Union and magement are negotiating contracts which have reached an impass so he has told his members to put on pressure by fucking things up.

So ....... you can imagine what its like.

French people being TOLD to be obnoxious...ironic.

;-))))

It certainly is an interesting place, especially when I was there .. walking down the street having your canadian g/f leading the way, being pushed and shoved, it was just so fucking rude. She had bruises from the excursion and not one apology. They seem to walk around with their elbows out to catch you on purpose. I adopted the same stance, and it was almost magical leading the way back like the parting of the red sea :)

This actually reminds me of my brief stint living in Union City, NJ, a small city a top the Pallisades, right above Hoboken and right across the Hudson River from Manhattan. The city is 98% Hispanic, and of that, 98% Cubano.

Very nice folks, overall. With one exception. The local laudramat, where very heavy middle aged women would knock your place out of line for the dryer. I mean literally. They would give hip-checks -- and lord did they have hips! -- that would make Bobby Clarke envious!! I swear these women turned doing laundry into a freaking sporting event of Olympic proportions!!

After the first two times -- at which I was just in mild shock, and also trying to figure out what I was going to do, afterall these were women -- I went back and from the third time on, I met them on their own turf. Nasty scowls, pretending I didn't know what they were saying and hip-checking them for the next drier just as good as they did. Kinda weird every time I went to the laundry to prepare myself "for battle", but with that mindset, I never had a problem again.

Sheila: Time's have changed
Our kids are kids are getting worse
They wont obey their parents
They just want to fart and curse!
Sharon: Should we blame the government?
Liane: Or blame society?
Dads: Or should we blame the images on TV?
Sheila: No, blame Canada
Everyone: Blame Canada
Sheila: With all their beady little eyes
And flappin heads so full of lies
Everyone: Blame Canada
Blame Canada
Sheila: We need to form a full assault
Everyone: It's Canadas fault!
Sharon: Don't blame me
For my son Stan
He saw the darn cartoon
And now he's off to join the Klan!
Liane: And my boy Eric once
Had my picture on his shelf
But now when I see him he tells me to fuck myself!
Sheila: Well, blame Canada
Everyone: Blame Canada
It seems that everythings gone wrong
Since Canada came along
Everyone: Blame Canada
Blame Canada
Some Guy: There not even a real country anyway
Ms. McCormick: My son could've been a doctor or a lawyer it's true
Instead he burned up like a piggy on a barbecue
Everyone: Should we blame the matches?
Should we blame the fire?
Or the doctors who allowed him to expire?
Sheila: Heck no!
Everyone: Blame Canada
Blame Canada
Sheila: With all their hockey hubbabaloo
Liane: And that bitch Anne Murray too
Everyone: Blame Canada
Shame on Canada
The smut we must stop
The trash we must smash
Laughter and fun

We must blame them and cause a fuss
Before someone thinks of blaming uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuus
